On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, the committee appointed ~o investigate the petition of pro- perty owners for flood control along the south bank of the santiago Creek between Santa Ana Boulevard and Flower Street, was continued and proper~y owners to be informed of the repor of the committee that the City is unable to finance a~proJect for relief at this time. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, the communication of the Chief of Police and petition with seventy-eight signatures favoring the installation of parkinl meters in the City and the communic$ion of the Retail Divi- sion of the Chamber of Commerce submitting a digest of a parking survey made under their auspices, were referred to the Council as a whole to study and report back at the next meeting. On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion o~ Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the property at the southwest corner of First and Orange Avenue was order~ posted for special use and the hearing date set June 7th, 19~7, in accordance with the application of the Richfield 0il Company to erect a service station. # On recommendation of ~he Planning commission and on motion of Trustee Smith, seconded~by Bruns and carried, the property at the northwest corner of First and Shelton Streets was ordered posted for neighborhood business zone and the hearin date set June ?th, 1987, in compliance with the application of J. A. Milbrat to construct a drive-in-market. On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried by unanimous vote, all bids on fencing were rejected and checks to be returned to bidders and if the City decides to purchase fencing to buy same on open market. # 'On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, all bids submitted on cast iron pipe were rejected and check to be returned to bidders.
