On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Smith and carried, the communication of Mrs. R~C. Hoiles, Secretary of the Santa Aha Assistance League, extending their thanks for the use of the Municipal Bowl for their horse show and appreciation of the courtesy of the City Employees for their help, was received and placed on file. # On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, the request of Trustee Joseph P. Smith for a thirty day leave of absence from the State to start June 8th, 1937, was granted. # On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Layton and carried, a Resolution of Commendation expressing appreciation for the services rendered Santa Ana by the Leage of California Muni- cipalities through the Legislative Department maintained at Sacramento during the last session of the State Legislature, was read, considered, designated Resolution No. 252~ and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees Joseph P; Smith, W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred O. Bowland. Trustees None. Noes; Absent, # Ayes, Noes, Absent, # Trustees Plummet W. Bruns. On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried, the Chair was authorized to appoint a committee to investi- gate the recommendation of the Planning Commission for park- ing facilities for the Municipal Bowl. Trustees Bruns and Penn were appointed as the committee. # On motion ef Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the following Resolution entitled: "Resolution authorizing execution of Deed to M.R. Kellogg" was read, considered, designated Resolution No. 2§25 and passed by the following vote: Trustees Ptummer W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. Trustees None. Trustees None. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the following 5rdinance entitled: "An Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 1050 entitled 'An Ordinance of the City of Santa Ana regulating the use of Public Highways within said City'" was introduced, read, considered and placed on file for second reading.
