Council Chambers. <br /> <br />Santa Ana City Hall. <br /> <br />June 21st, 1937. 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Rowland. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, W. H. Penn, <br /> Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br /> Absent: Trustees Joseph P. Smith. <br /> <br />Each Trustee having received a copy of the Minutea, <br />further reading of the Minutes of June 7th, 1937, <br />was dispensed with and the Minutes approved on motion <br />of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Applicatfon <br /> <br />Myrtle A. Williams for permission to use <br />the name of Courtesy Cab in connection with her business of <br />the Broadway Cab Company, having purchased the good will of <br />the Courtesy Cab, was referred to the City Attorney to study <br />and report back with recommendation. <br /> <br /> . <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the minutes of the Traffic Safety Commission covering meet- <br />ings of April 125h, May 13th and June 7th, 1937, were receive~ <br />and filed. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the application of Van de Kamp's Holland Dutch Bakers, Inc. <br />for permission to allow the neonized porcelain enamel sign to <br />remain at Second and Broadway without an underwriter's label, <br />was referred to the Electrical Inspector to report back. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the communication of the Santa Ana Community Chest for per- <br />mission to conduct their campaign the week of October 4th to <br />9th to solicit funds for %he Community Chest, was granted. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and car~ed, the <br />communication of John Otis Haley with reference to the exten- <br />sion of Bristol Street north of Seventeenth Street to meet <br />with l~he State Highway, was referred to the City Clerk to <br />advise Mr. Haley that the plans under consideration sometime <br />ago to extend Bristol Street had been abandoned. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the application of Jesus Gastelo for permission to operate <br />a pool hall at 1027 E. Fourth Street' was referred to the <br />~olice Commissioner and Chief for investigation. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br /> <br />
