Council Chambers. Santa Ana City Hall. June 21st, 1937. 7:30 P.M. City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by Mayor Rowland. Present: Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. Absent: Trustees Joseph P. Smith. Each Trustee having received a copy of the Minutea, further reading of the Minutes of June 7th, 1937, was dispensed with and the Minutes approved on motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried. In Re Applicatfon Myrtle A. Williams. In B~ Minutes of Traffic Safety Commission. Application--Vande Kamp' s Holland Dutch Bakers, Inc. In Re Communication S.A. Community Chest. In Re Communication John Otis Haley. In Re Application IJesus Oastelo. On ~motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, the application of Myrtle A. Williams for permission to use the name of Courtesy Cab in connection with her business of the Broadway Cab Company, having purchased the good will of the Courtesy Cab, was referred to the City Attorney to study and report back with recommendation. . On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, the minutes of the Traffic Safety Commission covering meet- ings of April 125h, May 13th and June 7th, 1937, were receive~ and filed. # On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, the application of Van de Kamp's Holland Dutch Bakers, Inc. for permission to allow the neonized porcelain enamel sign to remain at Second and Broadway without an underwriter's label, was referred to the Electrical Inspector to report back. # On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried, the communication of the Santa Ana Community Chest for per- mission to conduct their campaign the week of October 4th to 9th to solicit funds for %he Community Chest, was granted. # On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and car~ed, the communication of John Otis Haley with reference to the exten- sion of Bristol Street north of Seventeenth Street to meet with l~he State Highway, was referred to the City Clerk to advise Mr. Haley that the plans under consideration sometime ago to extend Bristol Street had been abandoned. . On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, the application of Jesus Gastelo for permission to operate a pool hall at 1027 E. Fourth Street' was referred to the ~olice Commissioner and Chief for investigation. #
