<br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and
<br />carried, Trustee Layton was appointed Mayor Pro Tem
<br />in'the absence of Mayor Rowland.

<br />Each Trustee havim~ received a copy of the Minutes,
<br />f~r reading of the Minutes of August 2nd and 9th,
<br />was dispensed wiSPa ~hd the Minutes approved on motion
<br />of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried.

<br /> Metropolitan Water District, dated August 13th, 1937, with
<br /> reference to 1937-1935 tax levy, was referred to the Finance
<br /> Committee.

<br /> communication from Mrs. R.A.Cashlon expressing appreciation
<br /> for favors and courtesies shown during illness and death of
<br /> her husband, was received ~nd Clerk instructed to acknowledge
<br /> receipt of same.

<br /> application of J.H.Walsh, District Manager, of Townsend C~uh,
<br /> requesting permission to take up a voluntary collection in
<br /> Birch Park, Wednesday, August l~th, was granted.

<br /> On motio~ of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried,
<br /> communication from C.H.Eckles, Operator, Santa Aha Bus Servic,
<br /> requesting permission to add additional service to existing
<br /> bus lines, was referred to the Taxicab Commission, to report
<br /> back at next meeting.

<br />On motion of Trustee Pe~n, seconded by Smith and carried,
<br />application of Fred E. Doyle, to drive taxicab, was granted
<br />on recommendation of the Taxicab Commission.

<br /> On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried,
<br /> application of Joseph W. Barlow, to conduct a commercial
<br /> poultry yard at 524 Virginia St., was referred to City Attorn~
<br /> L.W.Blodget and Sanitary Inspector E.E.Frisby, for invest-
<br /> igation and recommendation.
