No. 2597 <br /> <br />To Borrow Money. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> the communication of W. F. Croddy submitting oil lease cover- <br /> ing fifteen acres owned by the City of Santa Aha, commonly <br /> known as the city dump, and offering $450.00 for the first <br /> year's rent with the option of extending it two years addi- <br /> tional at $450.00 per year, payable in advance, with one- <br /> sixth royalty, was referred to the City Attorney and Engineer <br /> for checking and report back. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, <br /> ~he monthly reports of the various city officers for the <br /> month of September, were referred to the Finance Committee. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried, <br /> the Clerk was instructed to draw warrants according to the <br /> demands audited by the Finance Committee, numbering 924 to <br /> ll~2 inclusive. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Layton seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> the City Engineer was instructed to contact the owner of the <br /> property obstructing $11ey running north and south in the <br /> 400 block between Birch and Ross Street and inform him that <br /> building must be removed. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> the following Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br /> "An Ordinance of the City of Santa Ana, California, <br /> fixing the amount of money ascertained to carry on the <br /> various departments of the City of Santa Ana, and to pay <br /> the bonded indebtedness falling due for the current year <br /> 193@-19~9, and fixing the rate of taxation for the current <br /> year 1~38-1939, designating the number of cents on each <br /> $100.00 for the various funds of said City, on the whole <br /> of the taxable property of said City as set by the County <br /> Assessor of the County of Orange, State of California, <br /> and equalized by the Board of Supervisors of said County, <br /> and hereby levied on the whole of the taxable property of <br /> said City." <br /> <br />was read, considered, designated Ordinance No. 1068 and <br />passed as an emergency Ordinance by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, W.H. Penn, Ernest H. <br /> Layton, Fred C. Rowland, Joseph P. Smith. <br /> <br /> Noes, Trustees None. Absent, Trustees None. <br /># <br /> <br />The City Attorney reported that he approved the bid of the <br /> <br />Bankamerica Company which was accepted at the last meeting <br /> <br />of the City Council, subject to his approval. <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> <br />a Resolution No. 2597 entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution declaring necessity for borrowing money, and <br /> orderi~ the issuance and sale of a tax anticipation note <br /> of the City of Santa Ana therefor." <br /> <br />was introduced, read, considered, passed and adopted by the <br />following vote:. <br /> <br /> <br />
