Shippee with reference to <br />Armistice Day Parade in Orange and entrance of car in parade <br />with city officers, was referred to Mayor for disposition. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the communication of the Plastering Contractors Association <br />inviting Council to attend their dinner meeting robe held at <br />Daniger~s Cafe, at 7:00 P.M., November lath, 1938, was <br />received, acknowledged and filed and members of City Council <br />and City Attorney urged to attend. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee penn, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the communication of Bardas M. Heneke protesting against the <br />adoption of civil service for the balance of the city employ- <br />ees, was received and referred to the Civil Service Commissio <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the applications cf Electrical Contractors to hang electric <br />signs for the Mission Flower Shop at §15 N. Main Street and <br />for Rold's Market at 1635 E. First Street, were granted sub- <br />Ject to the approval of the Electrical Inspector and hung <br />under his supervision. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee <br />the communication of <br /> <br />Smith, seconded by Stuns and carried, <br />the Pacific Electric Railway Company <br /> <br />the report of the <br />Santa Ana for the <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />was received and voucher in amount of $224.75 in payment of <br />franchise tax for year ending November 7th, 193~, was accepte~ <br />and Clerk instructed to deposit same. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Stuns, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the petition of the Veterans' Welfare Board for the cancella- <br />tion of certain taxes now appearing on the tax records as a <br />llen against property owned by the Board, was denied and the <br />Clerk instructed to notify said Board of the Council's action <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the document entitled Acceptance of Franchise of the Southern <br />California Edison Company, Ltd., a corporation, filed October <br />25th, 1938, was accepted and Clerk instructed to notify said <br />Company of Council's action. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br /> County Health Department for the City of <br /> third quarter, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the monthly reports of the various city officers for the <br />month of October, were referred to the Council as a whole. <br /> <br /> <br />
