M. <br /> <br />Cafe, <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />the use of the City Hall for the handling of 1938 License <br />Plates, was received and acknowledged. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the communication of Harry E. Zaiser, M.D., Supt. of the <br />County Hospital, expressing appreciation for the assistance <br />rendered by the City and for the use of pump during the <br />recent flood and also permitting the laying of a two inch <br />pipe over S.A. Boulevard from the City of Orange to secure <br />water, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the communication of the Chamber of Commerce recommending <br />as a means of lessening congestion, that there be limitation <br />to the hours that trucks be allowed to unload in the down- <br />town business area, excepting where buildings are served by <br />alleys, was referred to the Police Commissioner and Chief <br />to consult with the Traffic Bureau. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the second recommendation of the Chamber of Commerce, that <br />in construction of new business buildings to be used for <br />mercantile put,poses an inside loading dock be required on <br />property not served by alleys, was referred to the Planning <br />~ommmission. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the application of Pay-less Markets, Inc. to install on their <br />parking lot adjoining their store a large tent for a Food <br />Show to be used for three days during the latter part of <br />April, was granted when the applicants meet the requirements <br />of the Building, Electrical, Fire and Sanitary Departments. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the protest of Cleve Sedoris,Realtor, against the installa- <br />tio~ of parking meters in Santa Ana, was received and filed <br />and referred to the CounCil as a whole. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the communicatioh of the Orange County League of Municipali- <br />ties with reference to monthly meeting to be held at 6:4§ <br /> <br /> Thursday evening, March 24th, at the Bit of Scandia <br /> Fullerton, was received and officials urged to attend. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the application of Winbigler Mortuary, 609 N. Main Street, <br />for the privilege of installing flood light units on that <br />portion of the front sidewalk that is understood to be the <br />parkway, was referred to Trustee Penn and Attorney Blodget <br />with power to act. <br /> <br /> <br />
