Bruno, Joseph P. Smith, <br /> W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Auditor. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Renewal of Lease <br /> <br />Pacific Electric Railway Co. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the communication of the American Legion expressing apprecia- <br />tion for the use of Santiago Park for the Legion-Auxiliary <br />Picnic, was received and filed. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the communication of the California Municipal Utilities Asso- <br />ciation expressing appreciation for certain information maile <br />on questionnaire pertaining to municipally owned utiliities, <br />was received and filed. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the communication of Robert E. Smith Sr. and Ellen M. Smith <br />requesting action on the obstruction in an alley by chicken <br />pens, behind Lot ? of the Spurgeon Street Tract known as 1329 <br />Spurgeon Street, was referred to the City Engineer for inves- <br />tigation and report back. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the communication of Sophia A. Witte protesting against weed <br />assessment on Lot 13, Block 3, Artesia Street Tract in Santa <br />Ana, was received and filed. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the report of the standing committee on the application of <br />the San Francisic Sisters to sell tickets for a drawing to <br />raise funds for a church building program, was accepted and <br />the application was denied. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the report of W. T. Lambert, County Auditor, stating Santa <br />Anats estimated valuation for the year 1938-39 at $24,448,365 <br />was received and referred to City Auditor. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the Mayor and Clark were authorized to sign a renewal of leas <br /> <br /> <br />
