Main St. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br /> <br /> a Resolution of Intention to Grant Electric Franchise to the <br /> Southern California Edison Company Ltd., a California utility <br /> corporation, was read, considered, designated Resolution No. <br /> 2583 and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, <br /> W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br /> Noes, Trustees None. <br /> <br /> Absent, Trustees None. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the application of Jasper Farney to construct a duplex on <br />Van Ness Avenue between Bishop and Highland Street, known as <br />Lot 6, Block 10, Polytechnic Villa Tract, was referred to <br />the Planning Commission for recommendation. <br /> <br /> . <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layt0n, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the petitions of business men and property owners on S. Main <br />Street for the completion of widening of S. Main Street from <br />First to Fairview, the removal or trimming of all trees and <br />shrubbery in parking on said street and the correction af <br />street lighting to conform with modern lighting engineering, <br />were received and referred to the Council as a whole. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the communication of The Metropolitan Water District relativ, <br />to paying out of the municipal funds all or any portion of <br />the amount of the Water District tax which would otherwise <br />be levied upon property within the City of Santa Ana for the <br /> <br />fiscal year 1938-39, <br />On motion of Trustee <br /> <br />was received and filed. <br /> <br />Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, th~ <br /> <br />communication of.The Metropolitan Water District transmitting <br />financial statements as of June 30th, 1938, and a statement <br />of the amount of water stored by the District and used by <br />member cities, was referred to the Auditor for checking. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br /> <br />
