Main Street to <br /> advertise the visit of the Philadelphia American League base- <br /> ball team to the City of Anaheim for their training season, <br /> was referred to the Department of Public Relations. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> the request of Safeway Stores, Incorporated, for permission <br /> to hold the formal opening of the new store at ll0 N. Main <br /> <br />Street, November ~2nd and also a new store at 1725 N. Main <br /> about <br />Street~December lst., with a musical program and searchlights <br /> <br />in front of the store, was referred to the Department of <br />Public Ways with power to act. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the application of Jerome B. Stephenson, Scoutmaster of Troop <br />#29, requesting permission to take orders and deliver Christ- <br />mas tr~e bases, beginning November 7th to December 20th, <br />inclusive, was denied. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the applications of electrical contractors to hang electrical <br />signs, were granted and ordered hung under the supervision <br /> <br />of the Electrical Inspector, <br /> <br />Jack Walker's Gymnasium <br />J. O. Adams Sportwear <br />Mary Somers Cafe <br /> <br />as follows: <br /> <br />412 Spurgeon St. <br />112 W. 4th St. <br />103 E. 1st St. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the warrant of the Pacific Electric Railway Company in amount <br />of $195.54 covering franchise tax for year ending November <br />7th, 1939, was received and ordered deposited and the state- <br />ment w§s referred to the City Attorney and Auditor for checki~ <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Kelsey and carried, <br />the communication of B. J. Smith, County Clerk, with Resolu- <br />tion of the Board of Supervisors attached, relative to releas~ <br />of mortgages on tax deeded property, was received and referre, <br />to the Auditor for checking and report back. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, <br />the communication of John H. <br /> <br />seconded by Eelsey and carried, <br /> <br /> Lewis requesting the Council to <br /> <br />have the idle tables at Recreation Center returned to Birch <br />Park for the accomodatton of the Oldsters and picnickers, was <br />referred to the Council as a committee bf the whole. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br /> <br />
