<br />On rec6mmendatlon of the Taxicab Commission and on motion of
<br />~rustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the application
<br />of Russell W. Gale for a permit to drive a taxicab for the
<br />White Cab Company, was granted.

<br />Pursuant to Resolution of Intention, the Chair asked if any
<br />bids had been received for the sale of the following des-
<br />cribed property:
<br />
<br /> Lots 1, 2, 5, 4, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, IS, 1fi, 19, 20,
<br /> 21, 2~, 23, 2& and ~5~in Block "H" of Tract No. 831.
<br />
<br />The offer of Sherman Stevens was read to purchase said real
<br />property for the sum of $950.00 and no person being present
<br />desirous of raising this bid, upon motion of Trustee Bruns,
<br />seconded by Kelsey and carried, the Resolution accepting said
<br />offer and authorizing the Mayor and Clerk to execute deed to
<br />said property was read, considered, designated Resolution No
<br />2717 and passed by the following vote:

<br /> Ayes, Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, D. W. Kelsey, Fred C. Rowland.

<br />Mrs. Goldie Burks,representing the Women's Political Study
<br />Club, a Negro organization, appeared before the Council seek-
<br />lng aid in securing rental property for negroes. On motion
<br />of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Kelsey and carried, the request
<br />of Mrs. Goldie Burks was referred to a committee to be appoin
<br />ted by the Mayor, to work with Mrs. Burks and her associates
<br />to ascertain what can be done to secure rental property for
<br />negroes. Trustees Yost, and Kelsey and Secretary Croddy of
<br />the Planning Commission were appointed as the committee.
