Broadway Improvement. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />License Revoked <br /> <br />of Urbano Murrietta. <br /> <br />and the Department of Public Safety was requested to cooperat <br />with the Department of Public Ways in the enforcement of the <br />Ordinance. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Kelsey, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the Mayor and Clerk were authorized to sign an agreement with <br />Eva Gonzales for the construction of an electric sign at 510 <br />S. Main Street, which extends over and upon the five footset- <br /> <br />back line established on S. <br /> <br />!! <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, <br /> <br />Main Street. <br /> <br />seconded by Yost and carried, <br /> <br />the monthly reports of the various city officers for the <br />month of November, were referred to the Finance Committee. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Yost, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the Clerk was authorized to draw warrants in accordance with <br />the demands numbering from 1504 to 1723 inclusive, as audited <br />by the Finance Committee. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Kelsey, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the report and recommendation of the City Engineer was accep- <br />ted and the work of R. C. McMillan, as contractor, on the <br />construction culverts on Edinger Street, was accepted and <br />approved as completed and the Clerk was instructed to pay the <br />amount due on the estimate and file notice of completion. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Kelsey, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the report and recommendation of the City Engineer was accep- <br />ted and the work of Wells and Bressler, as contractors, on <br />the improvement of Broadway l~etween 10th and 17th Streets, <br />was accepted and approved as completed and the Clerk was <br />instructed to pay the amount due on the estimate and file the <br />notice of completion. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Yost and carried, <br />the Chair was authorized to replace Mr. Layton with Trustee <br />Kelsey to work with Trustee Smith as a committee for the <br />improvement of South Broadway and the committee to proceed <br />with the acquiring of suitable right-of-way for the continua- <br />tion of South Broadway and the City Engineer to prepare an <br />estimate for the improvement of said street as acquired, as <br />soon ae possible. The Chair appointed Trustee Kelsey as a <br />member of the committee. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Chief of Police and the Department <br />of Public Safety and on motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by <br />Yost and carried, Urbano Murrietta be requested to appear <br />before the Council December 18th, 1939, and show cause why <br />his license and permit to conduct a po~l hall at 1027~ E. ~th <br /> <br /> <br />
