Broadway. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Kelsey and carried, <br /> <br />· the Mayor and Clerk were authorized to sign an agreement with <br /> Eleanor and Harrlett Bowen ~overing the construction of an <br /> electrical sign at 717 N. Main Streets, which extends over <br /> and upon the ten foot set-back line established on N. Main St <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> the monthly reports of the various city officers for August, <br /> were referred to the Council as a committee of the whole. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> the Clerk was instructed to draw warrants according to the <br /> demands audited by the Finance Committee, numbering from <br /> 653 to 878 inclusive. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Yost and carried, <br /> the application of Roland D. Flaherty requesting variance of <br /> 250 square feet to permit construction of a six unit apartmen <br /> house in R-2 zone at 702 S. Broadway, was received and the <br /> recommendation of the Planning Commission accepted. <br /> <br /> On recommendation of the Taxicab Commission and on <br /> motion of Trustee~sey,seconded by BmU~ and carried, the <br /> applications of EoyW. S~ll&rds and Virgil Roy Craig to drive <br /> taxicabs for the White Cab Company, were granted. <br /> <br /> , <br /> <br /> On recommendation of the Department of Public Safety ,nd on <br /> motion of Trustee Yost, seconded by Smith and carried, the <br /> application of J. C. Williams to conduct a modern billiard <br /> room at 417 Bush Street and the application of Urbano <br /> Murrieta to conduct a pool hall at 10273 E. Fourth Street, <br /> were granted. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Kelsey, seconded by Yost and carried, <br /> the plans and specifications together with maps as presented <br /> <br />by the City Engineer, <br /> <br />Tenth and Seventeenth, <br /> <br />for the paving of Broadway between <br />were adopted and approved. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Kelsey, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution authorizing and directing the City Clerk to <br /> advertise for bids for the improvement of portions of <br /> Broadway Street in the City of Santa Aha, California, <br /> and fixing prevailing wage rate" <br /> <br />was read, considered, designated Resolution No. 2692 and <br />passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Trustees Plummet W.
