<br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried,
<br />the recommendation of FireChief Luxembourger was concurred
<br />in and W. A. Hadley was appointed as a firemSn, to fill the
<br />vacancy caused by the resignation of Bid Kimball, effective
<br />December let, 1940, for a six months probationary period and
<br />%he Fire. Chief and Civil Service Board to be notified.

<br />On certificate cf completion being filed by the City Engines]
<br />with the City Clerk on the paving of Towner Street between
<br />Washington and Fifteenth Streets and a portion of Fifteenth
<br />Btreet, it was moved, by Trustee Smith, seconded by Stuns and
<br />carried, that the cashier's check in amount, of $1000.00 file~
<br />as a bond by Emmet C. Rogers for the paving of said streets,
<br />be. deposited and warrant ordered issued to Wells and Breesle:
<br />in She amount of $1000.00 as authorized by Emmet C. Rogers
<br />and the b~ ~o.~be exoeera~ed.

<br />the communication of Julia N. Budlong, Minister, commending
<br />motorcycle officer on duty on the down-town streets, was
<br />received, acknowledged and filed.
