<br />The Clerk commenced the reading of the Minutes and each
<br />member of the City Council having received copies of the
<br />Minutes of May l?th, further reading of the Minutes
<br />dispensed with and approved on motion of Trustee Haan,
<br />seconded by Deckert and carried.

<br />On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br />E.B.Sprague was appointed on the Bowers Memorial Museum Board
<br />to fill vacancy created by the death of T.E.Stephenson.

<br />south of Third St., was read, and on motion of Trustee Haan,
<br />seconded by Deckert and carried, matter was referred to the
<br />Street Department for investigation.

<br />On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br />the request of Lewis S. Hoff, Secy. South Santa Ana Church of
<br />Christ to erect a directional sign at the corner of Occidental
<br />and South Main St., was referred to the Street Superintendent,
<br />with power to act.
<br />
<br />A communication from Morton Grodzins, Research Assistant,
<br />University of California, requesting copies of any City
<br />Resolutions, Ordinances, Restrictions, etc. which have been
<br />passed by the Council relative to California Japanese, was
<br />read.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney, and carried,
<br />Resolution was introduced protesting the return of Japanese,
<br />now stationed in Japanese relocation centers, to their former
<br />prewar homes and places of business on the Pacific Coast.
<br />
<br />The ResolUtion was read, considered, designated Resolution
<br />
<br />No. 3231 and passed by the following vote:

<br />A communication from the Southern Counties Janitor Supply
<br />relative to alleys, passageways and buildings from lll East
<br />3rd St. to corner of Third and Bush Sts., where busses load
<br />for the Army, Navy and Marine bases, being used for public
<br />rest rooms, and communication from Edw. L. Russell, Health
<br />Officer, relative to this condition, were read.
