E. Wagner, Trustee, <br />with the approval of C.E.Walker, owner of Walker's Theatre, <br />and J.A.Henle, Lessee, of property described as 20 ft.by 30 <br />ft. on Lot 8 of a Resubdiviston of Block 7 of the Town of <br />Santa Ana, granting permission to use said property for a <br />military police station and limited to the entrance thereto <br />from the alley over the l0 ft. strip adjoining proposed <br />station, for the duration of the War and terminating ninety <br />days thereafter. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />the above described property was accepted for use as a <br />military police station under the provisions as set forth in <br />the communication. <br /> <br />A communication signed by Louis Braasch, Pres. Contrs. Assn. <br />of Calif, Orange Co. Chapter, requesting a meeting with the <br />Supervisors of Orange County and the City Councils of Santa <br />Ana and Newport Beach, for the purpose of discussing a <br />campaign for additional housing in the Santa Ana Defense <br />Area, was read and on motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by <br /> <br />Cheney and carried, the communication was referred to a <br /> of the Council <br />committed/for discussion at meeting to be held June 8th, at <br /> <br /> with the Contrs. Assn. of Calif., Santa Aha Realty <br /> <br /> Orange County Bullaers Exchsnge and Chamber of Commerc <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and carried, <br />the applications of Albert Harold Ross, Amelia Mae Ross, <br /> <br />Max A. Sanford, C.D.Carlisle, Rose W. Cantwell, and Kenneth <br />E. Johnston, to drive taxicabs for the Broadway Cab Co., were <br />received and permits granted. <br /> <br />Communication from John L. Luxembourger, Chief of the Fire <br />Dept. stating that Sam Fink was appointed as Acting Captain <br />to fill vacancy created by death of Captain B.J. Patton; <br />appointment of William B. Carlisle as emergency hoseman to <br />fill vacancy created by resignation of Valentine Lawson, who <br />is entering the armed forces, and resignation of Norman <br />Garrett, was received and filed on motion of Trustee Deckert <br />seconded by Cheney and carried. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Dixon and carried, <br />the monthly reports of the various City officials, for the <br />month of May, 1943, were received and filed~ and referred to <br />~he Council as a committee of the whole. <br /> <br /> <br />
