373 <br /> <br />(Amended by Minutes <br />of May 1st, 1944.) <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Effective Date - <br /> <br />Salaries - Police & <br /> <br />Fire Departments <br /> <br />135 commencing at the end of the first year of employment, <br />145 comencing at the end of eighteen months' employment. <br /> <br />We further recommend th City employees shall serve one year <br />before being eligible to either sick leave or vacation with <br />pay; that after one year's employment, the employee shall be <br />entitled to one week's vacation and five days' sick leave wit~ <br />pay, said sick leave to be accumulative if not used. After <br />being employed for two years, the employee shall be entitled <br />to twow eeks' vacation with pay. <br /> <br />We believe this recommendation is justified under existing <br />circumstances and present day living costs. Cheney, <br />Asa Hoffman. <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br /> <br />the recommendation of the Civil Service Board relative to <br /> <br />salaries of Police and Fire Departments are to be effective <br /> <br />as of July 1st, 1943. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Vacation Pay - <br /> <br />Police & Fire Depts. <br /> <br />APPR OVED: <br /> <br />Mayor of thirty of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by MayOr Hoffman. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, <br />the <br />the <br />the <br /> <br /> seaonded by Dixon~and carried, <br />Commissioner of Public Safety was authorized to contact <br />Civil Service Board, with the approval of the Chief of <br />Police Department and the Chief of the Fire Department, <br /> <br />that any man working in these departments during the vacation <br />period, be paid at the rate of pay commensurate with the <br />position they are fulfilling and that this Committee be given <br />power to act, if given approval of the Civil Service <br />Commission. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Cheney, <br />the City Council adjourned. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees Dale G.
