Catherina <br /> <br /> On recommendation of the Chief of Police and on motion of Trustee <br /> Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, request of International <br /> Ladies' Garment Workers' Union for permission to conduct a benefit <br /> dance at the Masonic Temple, on Saturday, November 13th, was <br /> ~ranted. <br /> <br /> Communication from City Engineer was read stating that improvement{ <br /> in Tract No. ll91 have been completSd and bond in the amount of <br /> <br /> $75,000.00 submitted by Glenn C. Bailey, may be released. On <br /> <br /> motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, <br /> communication was received, filed and bond ordered released. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, request <br /> of Disabled American Veterans, Jack Fisher Chapter 23, Inc., for <br /> permission to conduct annual Forget-me-not Sale on November llth, <br /> 12th and 13th, was granted. <br /> <br />Communication from Secy. Traffic Safety Commission was read statin <br />that request had been received from parents in the Lowell School <br />District calling attention to the fact that there is no sidewalk <br />on the west side of Flower St. between Fairview and Wtlshire, and <br />in rainy weather, the children must walk in the street. On <br />motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, matter <br />was referred to Trustee Cheney to check with property owners to <br />see if they will assume cost of construction of sidewalk. <br />Communication from Secy. Traffic Safety Com~nission was read reques <br />lng that a stop sign be placed at the alley exit on Wright St., an( <br />that a check be made on all alleys for possible traffic hazards. <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, matte~ <br />was referred to CityAttorney for recommendation and to report <br />back at the next meeting. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, reques <br />of AM¥~TS for permission to exhibit and display mobile unit, was <br />granted subject to approval of Police Department. <br />Communication was read from Planning Commission recommending that <br />North Olive Street be extended from the center line of W. Fifteentl <br />Street to a property line approximately 148 feet northerly there- <br />from. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and <br />carried, matter was referred to City Attorney for study and <br />recommendation. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the <br />reports of the Building Department, and Judge's office, and <br />Suarterly report of Recreation Department were received and filed. <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />the demands, as audited by the Finance Committee, were approved an6 <br />Clerk authorized to draw warrants covering demands numbering 140% <br /> <br />to 1714 inclusive. <br />,, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission denying a variance to <br />Joseph J. Catherina to permit construction of a twenty-two unit <br />motel on the east side of Bristol Street between Highland and <br />Cubbon Street, w~s approved and application denied. <br /> <br /> <br />
