Santa Ana City Schools request- and at various schools ing that loading zones be established at 412 E. 1st St.,/and on motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, matter was referred to Street Commissioner and Street Superintendent for recommendation. Communication was read from Orange County Builders' Exchange suggesting that a member of the building industry be considered in filllng any vacancy occurring on the Planning Commission. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, Cler~ to notify Secy-Mgr. that Council will be pleased to have the organization suggest a member to serve on the Planning Com~mission when future vacancies occur. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, communication from Southern Pacific Company was received and filed advising that the Pacific Electric Railway Co. acquired right, title and interest of Southern Pacific Company in and to agreement dated June 8, 1930, covering maintenance of two four-inch water ~ipes and one six-inch sewer pipe, at Dyer Station, Santa Ana. Communication was read from City Engineer advising that Attorney for A.J. Gtsler has signed a release for the claim in. the amount of $1,000.00 and that Pernel Barnett is entitled to the amount due him of $1,873.38 and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, warrant was ordered drawn and communication received and filed. ,, On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, request of Chairman, 20-30 Club of Santa Ana for permission to conduct a public dance at the American Legion Hall, December 28th, 1948, was granted. On motion of Trustee~Mandy, seconded by Heed and carried, reqdest of William L. Young for permission to conduct a public dance at Oddfellows Hall, December 10th, 1948, was approved as permission was previously granted. Communication was read from Secy. Civil Service Board advising that Floyd D. Norwood be reinstated in his former position as Laborer in the Street Department with full pay from and including the 4th day of November, 1948, and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, communication was received and filed. Communication was read from Citrus Growers Inc., requesting extension of lease for another year for National Camp site a~d on motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Chandler and carried, a public hearing will be held January 3rd, 19~9 to give both the petitioners and protesters an opportunity to be heard. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, request of Bert L. Holland, M.A.L. Authorized Or~nizer, Technocrs Inc., for permission to erect and maintain highway symbolization markers, was referred to Business Men's Association for invest- ~gation and recommendation.
