On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, request of Ebell Society for two loading zones was referred to Street Commissioner and City Engineer for recommendation and report back. ,, On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Chandler and carried, the application of J.W. Harvey, dba Harvey Motor Sales, to conduct the business of dealing in motor vehicles at 409 E. 1st St., was held over for thirty days and Clerk authorized to advertise in accord- ance with automobile dealer's Ordinance. On motion of Trustee Heed, seconded by Chandler and carried, reque of Earl G. Loomls,.Comdr. SC (s) USNR, Officer in Charge, that contract N123s-44643 on sewage disposal at the U.S.Naval Air Station be continued during the fiscal year beginning July tat, 1948 and continue in effect until further notice, was referred to City Attorney for recommendation and to report back. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and ca~rried, Wm. K. Lindsay was appointed as a member of the Planning Commissio~ to fill vacancy created by resignation of W. Roy George; term to expire June 30th, 19al. Communication was read from City Engineer stating that improvement: on extension of Westwood Avenue within the limits of Tract No. 1281 have been completed and on motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, Map of Tract No. 1280 was approved after proof was submitted that all improvements in the Tract had been paid by the subdivider. Communication and Resolution No. 225 of the Planning Commission recommending mnendment to Zoning Ordinance by reclassifying certai~ property described as follows: On the west by N. McClay Street; on the east by Wright Street; on the south by the center-line of Vast First Street; and on the north by a line parallel to the center-line of East Fi.faS Street and distant one hundred eighty-th~ feet northerly therefrom as measured along the east line of N.McCl~ Street, from Hr2 Residence District to the C-2 Commercial District were read and on motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the Clerk was instructed to publish a notice of hear- ing in a newspaper of general circulation, ten days prior to the next meeting of the Council on January 3rd, 1949, relative to reclassification of above property. Communication was read from Secy. Planning Commission recommending portion of abandonment of/Vance Street and on motion of T~rustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, communication was received, filed and Attorney authorized to proceed with abandonment p~oceedings an~ a policy was established that interested parties are to pay actual costs of abandonment proceedings with a minimum of $50.00. On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Cheney and carried, the Mayor was instructed to reply to the request of Joseph C. Rich, Chief, Heal Property Disposal Division, War Assets Administration, stating that the City of Santa Ana will be unable to enter into an agreement as requested and it is impossible to commit any of the City's fire equipment outside of the city limits, except in case 3t
