<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried,
<br />request of Santa Ana Unit No. 131 American Legion Auxiliary for
<br />permission to sell Memorial Day Poppies May 21st and 22nd, was
<br />~ranted.

<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, the
<br />Mayor was authorized to appoint a committee to investigate and
<br />report back on application of Rev. J.S. Hall to solicit funds.
<br />
<br />,M, ayor appointed Attorney and Planning Consultant on this committee.
<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried,
<br />the request of Salvation Army to place placards on light standards
<br />in the business district announcing "Salvage Week" effort, May
<br />23rd to 29th, was granted.

<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, request
<br />
<br />of Stevenson Paint Co. for additional 15 ft. on loading zone on

<br />west side of Flower St.,/referred to Trustee Cheney and Engineer
<br />
<br />for investigation and report back.

<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, request
<br />of Finney's Auto Glass & Mirror Works, 414-16 W. 8th St., for
<br />a loading zone was referred to Trustee Cheney and Engineer for
<br />investigation and report back.

<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried,

<br />Map Tract 1288 covering improvement for extension of Linwood Ave.
<br />within the limits of said Tract and a portion of 6th St., and bond
<br />in the amount of $10,000.00, submitted by Louis Braasch, were
<br />
<br />.a. pproved and proper authorities authorized to sign map.
<br />Oommunication from City Engineer was read advising that street
<br />improvements within the boundaries of Tract No. 1160 have been
<br />completed and bond in the amount of $20,000.00, submitted by A.J.
<br />McFadden, Anna K. McFadden, George Rasmussen, Annabel Rasmussen,
<br />Mary McF. Hinds, Wm. K. Llndsay and Edith M. Lindsay, may be
<br />released.

<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried,
<br />communication was received, filed and bond ordered released,

<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, the
<br />reports for the month Of April~ submitted by Building Department,
<br />Police Department, Juvenile Bureau and Judge's office, were
<br />received and filed.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried,~ the
<br />monthly demands, as audited by the Finance Committee, were
<br />approved and Clerk authorized to draw warrants covering demands
<br />numbering S80§ to 3811 inclusive.
<br />
<br />Communication was read from Secy. Forestry Board advising that
<br />Eugenia trees will be removed from parking in the 1S00-1400 blocks
<br />North Garnsey St., replacing with Cocos Plumosa, and on motion
<br />of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, petition was
<br />received, filed and Roy S. Wheeler to be notified of action.
<br />Communication was read from Edith M. Lindsay requesting that
<br />oak be removed from Santiago Creek and that trash, tin cans, etc.
<br />on south side of Creek be removed or covere~.
