Broadway Park <br /> <br />In Re <br />Budget 1948-49 <br />Joint Outfall Sewe~ <br /> <br />Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference and the Building <br />Officials Conference of America, held in Denver, July 9-10, 1948, <br />was granted, without expense to the City. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />communication from County Clerk, dated June 18th, 1948, and <br />Resolution of the Board of Supervisors, adopted June 15th, 1948, <br />covering the allocation to the Cities of Orange County of gas tax <br />monies, were received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, the <br />request of the Register Publishing Co., Ltd. to substitute an <br />iron ladder with a trap door on the main floor and an iron ladder <br />in an outside opening, which will be used to lower rolls of paper <br />into the basement of building being erected on Sycamore Street, <br />between The Register Building and Masonic Building, was denied du~ <br />to the fact that a safety and human angle is involved. <br />Communication was read from City Engineer advising that street <br />improvements on So. Birch.St~, between Borchard and Edinger, with. <br />in the boundaries of Tract No. llTO, have been completed, and on <br />motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Chandler and carried, Clerk <br />was authorized to release bond of Coast Construction Co., in the <br />amount of $12,000.00, covering improvements in said Tract. <br /> <br /> On recommendation of John D. Ball, M.D. and an motion of Trustee <br /> Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, Dale Griggs, Park <br /> <br />,S, uperintendent, was granted two months sick leave. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Chandler and carried, <br />Map Tract No. 1297 covering improvement of tract located between <br />Broadway and Ross, extending south of Anahurst Street 332.47 ft., <br />was approved and proper authorities authorized to sign map and <br />certified check in the amount of $9,?52.56 was accepted as bond. <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />notification of the State Board of Equalization of alcoholic <br />beverage application made by Antone Lopizich and Peter N. Perak, <br />1300 W. 4th St., was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Chandler and carried, <br />the applications of Thomas Wal~r, Daniel Polon, R.W. 0zmun, <br /> <br />Billy Jay Arthur, John R. Mitchell, Lyle ~. ~Frevert, William H. <br />Bruns, Jr. and Raymond F. 0dom, to drive taxicabs were granted <br />and permits ordered issued. <br /> <br />A petition was read signed by committee of property owners in the <br />2300 and 2400 block North Broadway requesting ruling or hearing <br />on petition previously submitted regarding six foot fence con- <br />structed on Lot $1, Tract 428, North Broadway Park. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />Attorney was instructed to write signers of petition advising the~ <br />of legal rights and procedure. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, Budget <br />of the Joint 0utfall Sewer, for 1948-49, as submitted by the <br />Engineer, was approved, received and filed. <br /> <br /> <br />
