Reynoso, l?ll W. 5th St., was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, report of Public Library for' 1947-1948, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Cheney and carried, request of H.R.H. Second-hand Store, 710 E. 4th St., for permisslc to conduct an auction sale was granted and inventory referred to Acting Chief of Police for checking, and report back to the Counci2 in compliance with Ordinance No. 1~8. On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Reed and carried, the following Resolution entitled: "Resolution authorizing and directing the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the widening and reconstruction of Grand Avenue, from-First Street to 185 ft. north of Fourth Street, in the City of Santa Aha, and fixing the prevailing wage rate" was read, by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees considered, designated Resolution No. 3683 and passed W.J.Cheney, Courtney R. Chandler, Allen A. Mandy, Virgil H. R~ed, R. Carson Smith. None None Noes, Trustees Absent, Trustees On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, plans as submitted by Asst. City Engineer, for the improvement of East Fourth St. from the Southern Pacific Main Line to the east city limits, were approved. On recommendation of Business Men's Assoc. and Orange County Braille Club, and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy sale of and carried, request of State Blind Shop to solicit/blind made ~roducts, was denied. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission granting a variance to Allison Honer to permit a reduction in front yards on all lots in Tract No. 1308 which lies north of 17th St. betwee~ Flower and Baker Streets which allows front yards of 25 ft. instead of 30 ft. in depth, on all lots excepting those fronting on Ruth Circle where a front yard depth of only 10 ft. is permitted, was .approved and application granted. On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, the bid of Pernel Barnett, in the amount of $13,842.00, was accepted for the construction of sewer lines, laterals'and manholes on W. 17th St. between King and Flower Streets. .
