<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the
<br />bid was referred to Auditor for checking, recommendation and repot'

<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, the Clerl
<br />was authorized to open bids for the sale of sludge produced at the
<br />treatment plant of the Joint 0utfall Sewer, as follows:

<br />Bid of A.J.Gisler: $3.50 per dry ton.

<br />Bid of Leffingwell Company: $4.48 per ton.
<br />
<br />Bid of Kellogg Supply Company: $2.60 per dry ton.
<br />
<br />Bid of Downey Fertilizer Company: $3.88 per dry ton.

<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, bids
<br />were referred to Joint 0utfall Sewer Engineer for checking and
<br />re cormnendat ion.

<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, the
<br />Clerk was authorized ~o open bids for the purchase of one 300
<br />gallon per minute at 68 P.S.I. pump to be used in conjunction with
<br />chlorination equipment, at the Joint 0utfall Sewer, as follows:

<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, the
<br />Minutes of the Executive Board of the Joint 0utfall Sewer meetings
<br />held at Anaheim, July 8th and July BOth, 1948, were received,
<br />approved and filed.
<br />
<br />Communication was read from City Engineer advising that wor$ has
<br />been completed covering installation of sanitary sewer on Pacific
<br />Ave. from 6th St. to Washington Ave., and on motion of Trustee
<br />Cheney, seconded by Chandler and carried, Clerk was authorized to
<br />release bonds in'the amounts of $2,726.00 respectively, submitted
<br />by Pernel Barnett.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, request
<br />of R. Carson Smith, for leave of absence for period August 9th to
<br />30th, 1948, inclusive, was granted.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Heed and carried, military
<br />leaves of absence were granted, with pay, to Daniel G. Harris,
<br />William Manzo, Henry L. Montano and Conrad J. Hanson, from August
<br />
