Water Dist. <br />Levying tax <br />on property <br /> <br />In Re <br />Taxicab <br />Applications <br /> <br />In Re <br />Extension of lease <br />with Atlantic 0il <br />Co. <br />(Standard 0il Co.) <br /> <br /> of Planners <br /> <br /> with expenses paid. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, <br /> request of Treesweet Products Co. to install a thirty-five foot <br /> driveway on Second Street starting at a point approximately forty <br /> feet east' of Santa Fe Street and extending for a distance of not <br /> more than thirty-five feet farther east, was granted. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried, the <br /> request of B.E.Switzler to conduct a pool hell at 403 W. 4th St., <br /> was granted. <br /> <br /> Communication was read from Planning Engineer requesting that <br /> classified <br /> position/as "Draftsman" be reclassified as "Planning Draftsman", <br /> <br /> and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, <br /> communication was received and. filed. <br /> <br /> Communication was read from South Main Improvement Association <br /> requesting removal of two large eucalyptus trees located at 1417 <br /> So. Main St., and on motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded~ by <br /> and carried communication was received, filed and Clerk to notify <br /> the Association that a permit must be secured from the State High- <br /> way Dept. in order to remove these trees, as South Main Street is <br /> a State Highway, and that application has been made to secure such <br /> ~ermlt. <br /> <br /> Communication was read from Board of Education wherein it proposes <br /> to acquire and to dedicate for street purposes a right-Of-way 60 <br /> ft. wide from the southern boundary of property now occupied by <br /> Santa Aha College to Washington Ave., and on motion of Trustee <br /> Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried, the City accepted the <br /> proposal to close that portion of 15th Street which lies between <br /> the east and west boundaries of Santa Ana College, in return for <br /> the paving of an lS foot strip in the center of this street. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, <br /> communication from Metropolitan Water District, together with <br /> assessed valuation of the taxable property within the Metropolitan <br /> Water District of Southern California, for the fiscal year 1948-49 <br /> wa. received and filed. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, <br /> communication from Metropolitan Water District, together with <br /> certified copy of Resolution No~ 3722, levying a tax upon taxable <br /> property within said District, were received, filed and Clerk <br /> instructed to acknowledge receipt of Resolution. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, applicat <br />of George Carlisle, Donald James Harman, John George Hepp and <br />Ernest Robert Wise, to drive taxicabs were granted and permits <br />ordered issued. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, lease <br /> <br /> dated SePt. 28th, 1945 between County of Orange and City of Santa <br /> assigned to Standard 0il Company <br /> Aha, and Atlantic 0il Company,/was extended for a period of two <br /> <br /> years and proper officers authorized to execute lease with approval <br /> of City Attorney. <br /> <br />to be held at Long Beach, Sept. 16th to 18th inclusive <br /> <br /> <br />
