<br /> On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried,

<br /> of Chief of Police for crossing guard at Washington Avenue and
<br /> Bristol Street, was granted.

<br /> Communication from City Engineer was read advising that improve-
<br /> ments on Linwood Avenue in Tract No. 1285 have been completed, and
<br /> bond in the amount of $10,000.00, submitted by Louis Braasch, may
<br /> be released. On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Chandler
<br /> and carried, communication was received, filed and bond ordered
<br /> released.

<br /> Communication from City Engineer was read advislng that improve-
<br /> ments on Broadway and Roes extending south of Anahurst Street,
<br /> being Tract No. 1297, have been completed and check in the amount
<br /> of $9,752.56 eubmitted by Sully-Miller Contracting Co., may be
<br /> released.' On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and
<br /> carried, communication was received, filed and check ordered
<br /> returned.

<br /> On recommendation of the Engineer,Joint 0utfall Bewer and on
<br /> motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, the Council
<br /> approved payment for pum~ and motor and Clerk authorized to retur~
<br /> check in the amount of $200.00 to By~on-Jackson Co. which ac~
<br /> companied their bid.

<br /> On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried,
<br /> the request of John B. Spitzer, Motor Officer, for two weeks
<br /> leave of absence beginning October 1st to 1Sth inclusive, was
<br /> ~ranted without pay.
<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Cheney and carried, the
<br />Clerk was authorized to advertise for bids covering the furnishin
<br />of 3,000 feet of 22" double Jacketed cotton, rubber lined fire
<br />hose with rocker type couplings and 100 feet of 3" double Jackete.

<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, the
<br />application of deBremond B. Hoffman, Joseph P. Chmilowski and Mrs
<br />Flora Bowley Hoffman, dba Santa Aha Motors, Inc., to conduct the
<br />bus~ness of dealing in motor vehicles at llA So. Main St., was
<br />held over for thirty days and Clerk authorized to advertise in
<br />accordance with automobile dealer's Ordinauce.

<br />On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Trustee Mandy
<br />seconded by Chandler and carried, the bids covering the painting
<br />of the elevated water tank were held over until next meeting.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br />notifications of the State Board of Equalization of alcoholic
<br />beverage applications made by Bruce E. Switzler, AO~ W. Ath St.,
<br />and Neill F. Belanger, 225~ N. Broadway, were received and filed.
