<br />more than six children at 728 0yDress Avenue, subject to

<br />Fred Forgy, Attorney, representing the oit~usgTowers, appeared
<br />before the Council and called attention to conflicting
<br />in p~oposed smudge Ordinance. On motion of Tx-uetee Reed,
<br />seconded by Ob~dler and carried, the Ordinance was tabled for
<br />
<br />further study and discussion until next meeting.

<br />On recommendation of the committee and on motion of T~ustee Roe
<br />seconded by Cheney and carried, the bid of Famularo-Stromberg,
<br />Inc., in the amount of $11,600.00, was accepted as the lowest
<br />
<br />qualified bid for the constr~ction of rest rooms at Prentice
<br />
<br />Park.

<br />On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Trustee Re,
<br />seconded by Cha.dler and carried, the bid of Cee Tee Construct:
<br />Company to pull vertically, pile and burn from 900 to 1216
<br />t~ees in Prentice Park, for $.87~ each, was accepted as the
<br />lowest bid.

<br />Communication was read from City Engineer advising that
<br />merits on English, Townsend, Fifth and Eighth Streets, within
<br />boundaries of Tract No. !318have been satisfactorily completed
<br />and on motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Reed and carried,
<br />bond submitted by Orange Service Company, Inc., in the amount o
<br />
<br />$20,000.00, was ordered released.

<br />Communication was read from the Governor advising that the Pres
<br />signed the new rent control law which became effective ~uly 1,
<br />and that all rent decontrol proceedings forwarded to the State
<br />office have been returned for ~uch action as the City deems
<br />appropriate, and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney
<br />
<br />and carried, communication was received and filed.

<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried,~
<br />communication from Census Supervisor stating that the count to
<br />date of returns of census taken as of April 1, 1950, shows a
<br />population of $5,53~ for the City of Santa Ana, was received
<br />
