<br /> Communication was read from City Engdneer advising that improve-
<br /> ments on Rosewood, Shelton and Edinger, within the boundaries of
<br /> Tract No. 1373 have been satisfactorily completed, and on motion
<br /> of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Martin and carried, bond sub-
<br /> mitted by Butt Huff, dn the amount of $15,000.00, was ordered
<br /> released.

<br /> On motion of Tru6tee Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, the
<br /> request of the Chief of Police for permission to leave the State
<br />
<br /> August 19th and 20th, 1950, was gr~nted.
<br /> .
<br />The City Treasurer reported that he and the City Purchasing Agent,
<br />as directed by t~e Council, had computed the bids and that the bid
<br />of Bank of America, National Trust and Savings Association,
<br />bidding par, accrued interest to date of delivery, and a premium
<br />of $89.00 for sa~d bonds, Bonds Nos. i to 100, inclusive, to bear
<br />interest at the r'ate of I 3/$% per annum, payable semi annual]y,
<br />and Bonds Nos. 101 to ~00, both inclusive, to bear interest at the
<br />rate of I 1/2~ per annum, payable semi annually, and Bonds Nos.
<br />~01 to ~75, both inclusive, to bear interest at the rate of I 3~%
<br />per annum, payable semi annually, is the best bid, and recommended
<br />that the Council award the bonds to said bidder.
<br />
<br />After considering the recommendation and the computation of the
<br />bids, on motion of Councilmsn Reed, seconded by Councilman
<br />Chandler, Resolution No. 3979 entitled "Resolution of the Counc!l
<br />of the City of Santa Aha, California, awarding $475,000 Fire
<br />Department Bonds, 1950, of said City to the best bidder and fixing
<br />the interest rates thereon", was adopted by the following vote:

<br />Communication was read from'City Engineer stating that request
<br />had been received from B. C. Clark for a boulevard stop at Washing'
<br />and King Street, and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Martin
<br />and c~rried, request was referred to the Traffic Safety Commission
<br />for recommendation.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, request
<br />of Allen A. Mandy for permission to leave the state from August
<br />22nd to September 5th, inclusive, was granted.

<br />On mo~ion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Martin and carried,
<br />notification of the State Board of Equalization of alcoholic
<br />beverage application made by John Di Matteo, 312 E. hth St.,
<br />
<br />Mary E. Blakely, 2037 So. Main St., Claire L. and James R. Talley,
