Kramer, Bruce F. Frederick, Otto Laupe~ <br />and Frank L. Seaman to drive taxicabs, were granted and permits <br /> <br />ordered issued. <br /># <br />Communication was read from Elmer S. Sullivan, Chief Observer, <br />Santa Aha 0bse~vation Post requesting use of the tower on top <br />the City Water Works at First and Flower Street and that a <br />telephone be installed in connection with Civilian Defense Work <br />and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and ca-tied <br />request was granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, the <br />application of Paul C. Musch to operate a taxicab business at <br /> <br />E. 4th St., was referred to the T~xlcab Commission. <br />,, <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, <br />claims of Warren Hill, 1108 Fruit St., for .~115.00 and I.M.Crene <br />1320 Poinsettia St., for $65.00 for damages to automobiles cause <br />by sparks and ash from Fire Works Display on July 5, 1950, were <br /> <br />referred to the City Attorney and Fire Chief, for disposition. <br /># <br />The Clerk stated no bids were received for the installation of <br />approximately 1300 lineal feet of 10 inch standard irrigation <br />pipe for Prentice Park. On recommendation of the Park Superint~ <br />ent and on motion of T~ustee' Chandler, seconded by Martin and <br />carried, the Purchasing Agent was authorized to negotiate for <br /> <br />construction and repair of water lines in Prentice Park. <br /># <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Martin and carried, <br />damage claim of Cora F. Sparks for injuries sustained when she <br />fell on the sidewalk at Walnut and Orange, was' referred to the <br />City Attorney and Insurance Carrier for disposition. <br /> <br />On motion of TE~stee Reed., seconded by Martin and carried, Mayo <br />and Clerk were authorized to execute lease No. 9818, between <br />of Santa Aha and Pacific Electric Railway Co., covering <br />of a private road crossing over Company's Newport Beach Line <br />right-Of-way at Engineer's Station 1905~85.38, beginning <br /> <br />1st, 1950 and ending August 31, 1951, at,rental of $5.00 per <br /> <br />or fraction thereof. <br /># <br /> <br />A petition was read signed by twenty-five property owners in the <br />2300 and 2400 block Bush Street requesting revocation of license <br />issued to G.U.Carter, doing business as Appliance Manufacturing <br />Company, 2403 North Main Street.
