Kramer, Bruce F. Frederick, Otto Laupe~ and Frank L. Seaman to drive taxicabs, were granted and permits ordered issued. # Communication was read from Elmer S. Sullivan, Chief Observer, Santa Aha 0bse~vation Post requesting use of the tower on top the City Water Works at First and Flower Street and that a telephone be installed in connection with Civilian Defense Work and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and ca-tied request was granted. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, the application of Paul C. Musch to operate a taxicab business at E. 4th St., was referred to the T~xlcab Commission. ,, On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, claims of Warren Hill, 1108 Fruit St., for .~115.00 and I.M.Crene 1320 Poinsettia St., for $65.00 for damages to automobiles cause by sparks and ash from Fire Works Display on July 5, 1950, were referred to the City Attorney and Fire Chief, for disposition. # The Clerk stated no bids were received for the installation of approximately 1300 lineal feet of 10 inch standard irrigation pipe for Prentice Park. On recommendation of the Park Superint~ ent and on motion of T~ustee' Chandler, seconded by Martin and carried, the Purchasing Agent was authorized to negotiate for construction and repair of water lines in Prentice Park. # On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Martin and carried, damage claim of Cora F. Sparks for injuries sustained when she fell on the sidewalk at Walnut and Orange, was' referred to the City Attorney and Insurance Carrier for disposition. On motion of TE~stee Reed., seconded by Martin and carried, Mayo and Clerk were authorized to execute lease No. 9818, between of Santa Aha and Pacific Electric Railway Co., covering of a private road crossing over Company's Newport Beach Line right-Of-way at Engineer's Station 1905~85.38, beginning 1st, 1950 and ending August 31, 1951, at,rental of $5.00 per or fraction thereof. # A petition was read signed by twenty-five property owners in the 2300 and 2400 block Bush Street requesting revocation of license issued to G.U.Carter, doing business as Appliance Manufacturing Company, 2403 North Main Street. On motion of Trustee Chandler seconded by Martin and carried, petition was referred to the Ci~ Attorney, Fire Chief and Building Inspector to investigste and report back.
