On motion of Txa~stee Ma~tin, seconded by Reed and carried, ~he request of Garage Superintendent for two weeks vacation, beginnin September 13th, was g~anted. # On recommendation of ~he City Engineer and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, the plans for the improve- ment of Santiago Avenuebetween Seventeenth and Santa Clara Avenue,.were approved. # On motion of Tl-ustee Reed, seconded by Martin and earried, lthe Clerk was lnstx-aoted to advertise for bids for the.furnishing of 1,000 5/8" x 3/4# lzvonze water meters without connections; bids to be opened October 2nd, 1950. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, the City Council adjourned. City Council met in regulam session. Meeting called to order by the Mayor. Present: Trustees Courtney R. Chandler, John W. Martin Jr., Virgil H. Reed, Allen A. Mandy. Absent: Trustee~ W.J.Oheney Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of September 8th, 1950, further reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried. # In Re Bids Fire Station Broadway and Edinger Sts. City Clef4' 2:00 P.M. In Re !Bids Sale of improve- ments - Fire Station site Council Ch-mber Santa And City Hall September 18, 1950. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, the Clerk was authorizedto open bids for a Fire Station to be ereote, at the northeast corner of South Broadway and Edinger Street, as Roll Call: Trustees Ayes Martin, Reed, Mandy follows~ Noes Chandler Absent Cheney Bid of Allison Honer Company in ~he amount of $110,656.00. Bond in the amount of 5~ bid accompanied bid. Bid of Fred D. Xyle Company in the amount of $110,393.00. Bond in the amount of 10% bid accompanied bid. Bid of South Coast Construction Company in the amount of $10%,465. Bond in the amount of 10% bid accompanied bid. Bid of Nylin P. Hurd in the amount of $103,069.00. Bond .in the amount of 5% bid accompanied bid. Bid of E.J.Xastorff in the amount of $107,359.00. Bond in the amount of 5% bid accompanied bid. Bid of Albert Relngsmdt in the amount of $114,590.00. Bond in the amount of 5% bid accompanied bid. On motion of Tl-ustee Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, bids were referred to committee for checking and to report back. Trustee Martin, Building Inspector, Architect Faulkner and Fire Chief were appointed, as committee. # The Clerk stated that no bids were received for the sale of all improvements on Lots 32, 34 and the East 15 feet of Lot 30 of the Park Tract Addition, said property being located on the south sid.
