Chandler, John W. Ma~,tin Jr., <br /> Virgil N. Reed, Allen A. Mandy. <br /> <br />carried, <br /> <br />for second <br /> <br />John ~. Martin Jr., Virgil H. <br />Alien A. Mandy. <br />Courtney R. Chandler. <br />W.J.Cheney <br /> <br />Reed <br /> <br />TE~stee Chandler stated he objected to the West Third Strcet site <br /> <br />for the reason ths.t the street is narrow and would not per~it the <br /> <br />free movement <br />of the lot as <br />Trustec Reed, <br /> <br />wa s <br /> <br /> of heavy fire trucks and favored the continued use <br /> a city parking lot. Motion carried. On motion~o~ <br /> <br /> seconded by Martin and carried, a transfer of mon~ <br />ordered from the Fire Department Improvement Fund to the <br /> <br />Streets. <br /> <br />Roll Call Ayes <br /> <br /> Trustees <br /> <br />Noes Trustees <br />Absent Trustees <br /> <br /> reading. <br /> <br /> Communication was read from City Attorney advising that a new <br /> suggested form of Major Disaster Ordinance which complies with <br /> the provisions and terminology of the Federal and State setups, <br /> is being prepared for distribution to Cities and reconm~ending <br /> that Ordinance creating Sant$~ Aha Disaster Council be held in <br /> abeyance. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Martin <br /> <br /> and carried, recom~uend~%tion was approved and Ordinance tabled: <br /> . <br />On recommend~ttion of the committee and on motion of TE~stee <br />Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, the request of Mrs. F.V. <br />Boggess that a red light, or a "stop and go" sign be installed <br />at Broadway and Tenth Streets, Was denied. <br /> <br />Report t..~as read from City Attorney on the agreements between <br />City and David and Paul M. Johnson regarding the collection of <br />trash and garbage. No action was taken. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the previously submitted five offers to sell <br />property for a fire station site and stated he was in favor of <br />locating the central fire station on city owned parking lot <br />located on :{est Third Street between Birch and Ross Streets. <br />Trustee Chandlcr moved that a committee be appointed and if <br />necessary, condemnation proceedings be instituted to acquire a <br />site for a fire station. Motion lost for lack of a second. <br /> <br />Fire Chief Oarthe objected to the location of the fire station o~ <br />West Third Street property reciting the nearness of Station No. 3 <br />at 131~ West Third Street, and the distance to underground ducts <br />at Sfest Fift~ Street and Main Street. It was moved by TrustJe <br />Martin and seconded by Reed that tlae City build the central fire <br />station on city owned property, now being used as a city parking <br />lot and located on ~'~est Third Street between Birch and Ross <br /> <br /> <br />
