Co. <br /> (pedestrian walkway) <br /> <br />In Re <br />Communication <br />George Dunton <br />(Sales Tax) <br /> <br />In Re <br />Parking and <br />speeding at <br />Community Center <br /> <br />APPROVED: <br />Mayor of the Ci Ana. <br /> <br /> Opinion No. 90, of the City Attorney, was read reference sale of <br /> City owned real property and on motion of Trustee Chandler, <br /> seconded by Martin and carried, in the future,in advertising for <br /> bids a minimum price acceptable to the City shall be stipulated <br /> in the advertisement and that the Council shall accept oral bids <br /> at the time of opening written bids for 10% or more than the <br /> <br /> highest written bid. <br /> # <br /> <br /> On r~commendation of the Chief of Police and on motion of Truste~ <br /> Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, request of Pacific Telepho: <br /> and Telegraph Company for a pedestrian walkway on Bush Street <br /> between 5th and 6th Streets, was denied. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, com-- <br /> <br />munication from George Dunton reference inequity in City Sales Tax <br /> law was received, filed and Mr. Duntcn be notified that committee <br /> recommended an amendment to the Sales Tax Ordinance which would <br /> relieve automobile and truck dealers the necessity of collecting <br /> sales tax from out-of-town purchasers. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, the <br /> Clerk w~s instructed to forw~rd a communication to Lieut. Col. <br /> Emmet A. Rink, Battalion Commander, Third Batt~lion~ enclosing <br /> copy of Ordinance No. 1236 which regulates traffic movement at <br /> the Community Center with request that members of the National <br /> Guard abide by such regulations; also, that complaints have been <br /> received relative to speeding and unless it is curbed Council <br /> <br /> will have to take action to regulate same. <br /> ,, <br /> seconded by Martin and carried, the <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, <br />City Council adjourned. <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />Council chamber <br />Santa Ana City Hall <br />May l, 1950. 2:00 P.M. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br />Meeting called to order by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees <br />Absent: Trustees <br /> <br />Courtney R.
