Opinion No. 94 of 'the City Attorney was read, reference McNeal Variance procedure, and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Martin and carrie6, opinion was received and filed. On motion following of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, the Resolution entitled: "A Resolution approving plans and specifications for a digester unit to be a part of the Joint Outfall Sewer Treatment Plant and directing the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the con- struction of such digester" was read, by the following ~ote: considered, designated Resolution No. 3930 and passed Ayes, Trustees Courtney R. Chandler, John W. Martin Jr., Virgil H. Reed, Allen A. Mandy. Noes, Trustees None Absent, Trustees W.J.Cheney . Mrs. B.C.Clark, spokesman for Anti-smudge Committee appeared before the Council an~ read prepared statement requesting inform- ation on action taken reference adoption of an Ordinance to eliminate the smudge nuisance and repeated the statement that committee members wish to place the smudge issue on the November 7th, 1950 ballot if Council and the Board of Supervisors do not make an effort to e~ontrol such nuisance. Chairman advised Mrs. Clark that Council will meet with Board of Supervisors in an effort to control the smudge situation and that committee members will be advised of time and place of such meeting. Request was read from Santa Aha Junior Chamber of Commerce for use of Bowl, without rental charge, on June 16th and permission t¢ conduct a one-half hour television broadcast. On recommendation of the Park Superintendent and on motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Martin and carried, request was granted for use Of Bowl, without charge but all expenses incurred such as fire and police protection, use of lights and clean-up work to be paid by the organization and permission be given, in writing,to conduct the television broadcast. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, Map of Tract No. 1377 was approved covering extensions to Lowell, Towner and half of Borohard Streets; bond in the amount of $18,.000.00 accepted and proper authorities authorized to sign map. ,, On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Martin and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved and variance~ granted to Clara S. Allison to permit a real estate offic at 408 So. Broadway, subject to certain conditions.
