In Re <br />Request <br />E.L. Sargent <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Protest <br /> <br />Parking Meters <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication <br /> <br />Mrs. Roy F. Bowers <br /> <br />Mayor of the C of Santa A~. <br /> <br />The City Engineer reported that committee investigated <br />the request of E.L.Sargent relative to new store at 631 <br />So. Main St., which building would not be in line with <br />5 ft. set-back, and that committee did not agree with <br />price as submitted by Mr. Sargent. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and <br />carried, matter was referred to the new Council for <br />action. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the committee snd on motion of <br />Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, protest <br />of property owners and businessmen of the West Fourth <br />Street area against installation of parking meters on <br />West Fourth Street further west than Van Ness Avenue, <br />was denied. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Chief of Police and on motion <br /> <br />of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and carried, request <br />of Mrs. Roy F. Bowers for a "no parking sign" on <br />Poinsettia Street extending north from Washington Avenue <br />to the north boundary of the Washington Court Apartments, <br />was denied. <br /> <br />Trustee Deckert, speaking for himself and members of <br /> <br /> the retiring Council, expressed his appreciation for <br /> <br /> the cooperation that they had received from City <br /> commissions <br /> officials, employees/and citizens of ths City during <br /> <br />the past four years, and especially the help which had <br />been extended them from the City Clerk's office, and <br />predicted that the new Council would receive the same <br />loyal support from the employees and citizenry as the <br />retiring Council, <br /> <br /> ,, <br /> <br /> The term of office as a member of the City Council of <br /> Otto R. Haan, W. Eugene Dixon, Dale G. Deckert, W. J. <br /> Cheney, Asa Hoffman, having expired, they adjourned <br /> <br />sine die as a City Council <br />motion of Trustee Deckert, <br />carried. <br /> <br />of the City of Santa Ana, <br />seconded by Dixon and <br /> <br /> City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
