That ~eraas, the Board of ~ustees of the City of California, did on the 12th day of ~ovember, 1920, for public bids for paving that portion of East WaInut Street, the same being a public street in the City of S~ta Ana, C~ifornia, ~d fronting on Roosevelt School, between Maple Street ~d Orange Avenue, in the City of S~ta ~a, California; And Whereas, bids hav~g been submitted to the above Board for performing said work ~d Were opened ~d read on the 6th day of December, 1'920; And ~ereas, after due consideration the same were de- termi~ed by said Board to be excessive ~d high in price for the perform~ce of said work, and each ~d all of said 0ids were then ~d there rejected; NOW TH~EFORF IT I? F~EI}~ 9F~OLV~D ~.VD DFe~9~D by said Bo~d by a fo,-fifths vote thereof that in its opinion the said work in question may be more economically performed by awarding the same at private contract for the pefform~oe of said work and that the s~e shall be let to private contract for the doing of said work in the paving of all that portion of E~t Walnut Street to the center li~e thereof ~d fronting on Roosevelt School Gro~dz, the s~e to 0e done in accord~ce with Specifications No. ~O on file in the office of the City Engineer, ~d the City Superintendent of Streets is hereby ~d herein instructed to enter into a con- tract for said work to be performed in accordance herewith.
