62 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2001 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, <br /> APPROVING ORDINANCE NO. 2636 OF THE CITY OF PASADENA, <br /> ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PASADENA DECLARING <br /> THAT PUBLIC 00 NVENIENCE AND NECESSITY .WEQUIRE THE <br /> INCORPORATION OF A METROPOLITAN WATER DISTRICT, NAMING <br /> THE CITIES PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED THEREIN, FIXING THE <br /> ESTIMATED COST OF INCORPORATING AND ORGANIZING THE PRO- <br /> POSED DISTRICT, AND APPORTIOI~NG SUCH COST AMONG THE <br /> MUNICIPALITIES PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED V~THIN SUCH <br /> DISTRICT", PROVIDING FOR THE ORGANIZATION OF A METRO- <br /> POLITAN WATER DISTRICT, AND M~KING AN APPROPRIATION FOR <br /> SUCH ORGANIZATION AS PROVIDED IN SAID ORDINANCE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the procuring of an adequate domestic water supply <br />is of vital importance to the Cities of Southern California and the <br />~nhabitants thereof; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Water District Act, Chapter 429, <br />Statutes 1927, approved May 10, 1927, provides a means whereby several <br />cities may combine together for such purpose and thereby more effectivel <br />serve their several needs than by individual action; and <br /> <br /> ~qEREAS, the Board of Directors of the City of Pasadena, in th <br />County of Los Angeles, State of California, did on February 15, 1928, <br />adopt an ordinance of said City, Numbered 2636 and entitled "An <br />Ordinance of the City of Pasadena Declaring that Public Convenience and <br />Necessity Require the Incorporation of a Metropolitan Water District, <br />Naming the Cities Proposed to be Included Therein, Fixing the Estimated <br />cost of Incorporating and Organizing the Proposed District, and Apport- <br />ioning such Cost ~mong the Mu~cipalities Proposed to be Included within <br />such District", providing for the organization of a Metropolitan Water <br />District under said Act as set forth therein, a certified copy of which <br />has been transmitted to the Mayo~ of this City by the City Clerk of <br />Pasadena, as provided in said Act: <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Santa Ana that said ordinance be approved, that the sum of Fifty Dollars <br />and ninety-nine cents ($50.99) be and the same hereby is appropriated <br />out of any unappropriated balance in the general fund of said City for <br />the payment of its share of the ostimated expense of organizing said <br />District, as provided in said ordinance, and the Auditor directed to <br />draw his warrant in favor of the City of Pasadena for said sum, and tha~ <br />said warrant and a copy of this resolution, certified by the City Clerk <br />be transmitted to the City Clerk of said City of Pasadena. <br /> <br /> I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution is a full, true <br />and correct copy of Resolution No. 2001, dully introduced and regularly <br />passed by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha at an adjoured <br />regular meeting thereof held on the 30th day of August, 1~28, by the <br /> <br />following vote: <br /> AYES, <br /> NOES, <br /> ABSENT, <br /> <br />TRUSTEES: <br />TRUSTE~iS: <br />TRUSTEES: <br /> <br />J.L.McBride, Homer C.Chaney, F.L.Purinton. <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />W.J.Kelly, Stanley E.
