RESOLUTION DECLARING RESULT OF ELECTION

<br /> WHEREAS, a special election was held in that territory known as "South
<br />Main Addition", on Tuesday, the 23rd day of October, 1928, pursuant to the pro-
<br />visions of An Act of the Legislature of June Il, 1~13, relating to the annexation
<br />of territory to municipalities, and found in the Statutes of 1913, Page 88V, as
<br />subsequently amended, at which election there was submitted the question of
<br />whether said new territory hereinafter described should be annexed to,
<br />incorporated in and made a part of the City of Santa Ana; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, notice of said election was given by publication, in the time,
<br />form and manner as required by said Act, as appears from the affidavit of S.A.
<br />Meyer on file with the City Clerk; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, it appears that said special election was duly held in accord-
<br />ance with law and said~notice on :~uesday, the 23rd day of October, 1928, and that
<br />the polls for said election were kept open during the time required by law, to-wit
<br />from six o'clock A.M. to seven o'clock P.M. of said day, and that said special
<br />election was held and conducted, and the votes thereof received and canvassed,
<br />and the result thereof determined and declared, in the time, form and manner
<br />required by law; and
<br />
<br /> W~tEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Aha did on Monday, the
<br />29th day of OctOber, 1928, being the time provided for its regular meeting next
<br />after the expiration of three days from and after the date of said election, meet
<br />and proceed to canvass the returns of said special election as required by law.
<br />Whereupon, the result of said canvass having been found to be as hereinafter
<br />
<br />stated.
<br />
<br />The City Council of the City of Santa Aha do resolve as follows:
<br />
<br />1. That the new territor~ proposed to be annexed to said City of Santa
<br />
<br />Aha as aforesaid is particularly described as follows, to-wit:
<br />
<br /> Situated in the County of Orange, State of California,
<br /> icularly described as follows:
<br />
<br />and part-
<br />
<br /> Beginning at the Northwesterly corner of Tract 2~4, as recorded
<br />in Miscellaneous Maps, Book 14, Pages 1 and 2, Records of O~ange County,
<br />said point of beginning being a point in the center line of Main Street
<br />and also an angle point in the boundary line of the City of Santa Aha,
<br />California; thence Easterly along the Northerly line of said Tract No.
<br />284, said Northerly line being also the City boundary line, t o the North-
<br />easterly corner of said Tract; thence Southerly along the Easterly line
<br />of said Tract No. 63~ as recorded in Miscellaneous Maps, Book 19, page
<br />iV, Records of Orange County, California; thence Southerly along the
<br />Easterly line of said Tract No. 638 and along the Southerly extension
<br />thereof to an intersection with a line drawn parallel to and distant
<br />thirty (30) feet Southerly from the Northerly line of Delhi Road; thence
<br />Westerly along said line drawn parallel to and distant thirty (30) feet
<br />Southerly from the Northerly line of Delhi Road to an intersection with
<br />the center line of Main Street; thence Northerly along the center line of
<br />Main Street to the point of beginning.

<br />2. That there was but one election precinct established and provided
<br />
<br />for the holding of said special election, the boundaries of which were the
<br />
<br />boundaries of said territory.

<br />3. That the whole number of votes cast on said proposition in tho
<br />
<br />territory to be annexed as aforesaid was ninety-four and the number of votes cast
<br />
<br />therein in favor of annexation was forty-five and the number of votes cast therein
<br />
<br />against annexation was forty-nine.
