<br /> DECLARING THEIR INTENTION TO ORDER THE INSTALLATION AND
<br /> CONSTRUCTION OF AN 0RN~MENTAL LIGHTING SYSTEM ON THE EASTERLY
<br /> ONE-HALF OF FLOWER STREET BETWEEN A LINE DRAWN PARALLEL TO
<br /> AND DISTANT 30 FEET SOUTH~RLY FROM THE WESTERLY EXTENDED
<br /> SOUTHERLY LINE OF SANTA CLARA AV~ AND A LINE DRAWN AT
<br /> RIGHT ANGLES TO THE CENTER LINE OF SAID FLO~YER STREET AND
<br /> DISTANT ll$0 FEET NORTHPLRLY FROM THE CENTER LINE OF SANTA
<br /> CLARA AVENLrE, THE CONSTRUCTION OF CEMENT SIDEWALKS THEREON
<br /> WHERE SIDEWALKS DO NOT NOW hi~IST, AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF
<br /> CEMENT CURBS THEREON WHERE CURBS DO NOT NOW EXIST; DECLARING
<br /> THE S~ID WORK TO BE OF MCEE THAN LOCAL OR ORDINARY PUBLIC
<br /> BENEFIT; DECLARING THE DISTRICT TO BE-BENEFITED BY SAID WORK
<br /> AND IMPROVEMENT AND TO BE ASSESSED TO PAY THE COSTS AND
<br /> .EXPENSES THEREOF; DETERMINING THAT BONDS SHALL BE I_~SUED TO
<br /> REPRESENT SAID COSTS AND EXPENSES AND FIXING THE TIME AND
<br /> PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS TO SAID WORK OR IMPROVEMENT, OR
<br /> TO THE EXTENT OF THE DISTRICT TO BE ASSESSED, OR BOTH.

<br /> The City Council of the City of Santa Ana, pursuant to the provisions of
<br />the Improvement Act of 1911 and the Improvement Bond Act of 191S, and amendments to
<br />said acts, do resolve as follows:
<br />
<br /> Section 1. That the public interest and convenience requires and it is
<br /> the intention of the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, California, to order the
<br /> construction of the following described work and improvement in said City, to-wit:
<br />
<br /> That the portion of the street in the City of Santa Ana upon which work
<br /> shallE be_ done and improvements made as hereinafter set forth shall be upmn and along
<br /> the asverly one,half of that open public street commonly known as and called Flower
<br /> Street between a line drawn parallel to and~distant ~0 feet Southerly from the
<br /> W~sterly extended Southerly line of Santa Clara Avenue, and a line drawn at right
<br /> angles to the center line of said Flower Street, and distant ll$O feet Northerly from
<br /> the center line of Santa Clara Avenue, excepting from the above described portion
<br /> of street any portions thereof which are already improved to the official grade.
<br />
<br /> That the work to be done and improvements to be-.made upon and along the
<br /> hereinbefore described portion o~ Flower Street in accord~ce.with the plans and
<br /> specifications therefor on file mn the office of the City Engmneer shall be as
<br />
<br /> The furnishing, installation and construction of an ornamental lighting
<br /> system, together with the necessary appurtenances to said lighting system, including
<br /> the installation of single light standards of the type and kind known as the King
<br /> Ornamental Standard design drawing No. K-0481 complete, together with Neolite Li
<br /> Unit No. 91-4, including all concrete foundations, anchor bolts, potheads, wiring,
<br /> lamps, globes, canopies and all necessary conduits and cables, making the necessary
<br /> connection to the existing circuit at the location indicated on the plans and making
<br /> all connections between standards, all as particularly indicated on and in accordance
<br /> with the plans and specifications hereinafter mentioned.
<br />
<br /> The excavation f~r an~ construction of Portland Cement Concrete sidewalks
<br /> upon and along the hereinbefore described portion of Flower Street, where sidewalks
<br /> do not now exist, all as particularly indicated on and in accordance with the plans
<br /> and specifications hereinafter mentioned.
<br />
<br /> The excavation for and construction of Portland Cement Concrete curbs upon
<br /> and along the hereinbefore described portion of Flower Street, where curbs do not
<br /> now exist, all as particularly indicated on and in accordance with the plans ~nd
<br /> specifications hereinafter mentioned.
<br />
<br /> The repairing of all curbs, sidewalks, culverts, pavement or other improve-
<br />ments cut or damaged during the construction of the above descrmbed work~ together
<br />with such other work or improvements as are noted on the plans which shall be
<br />considered as incidental to the above described work and improvements and no
<br />additional compensation shall be allowed therefor.
<br />
<br /> That the work to be done under these specifications shall include the
<br />furnishing of all labor, equi~ment and material necessary for or appurtenant to the
<br />construction and completion of all work herein specified.
<br />
<br /> That f~r the installation of the hereinbefore described lighting system a
<br />patented article will be used, and a license agreement between the Western Lighting
<br />Company, selling agents for the King Company, and Associated Wholesale Electric Compa~
<br />and the City of Santa Ana is now on file in the office of the City Clerk permitting
<br />the use of patented articles for which said company is selling a~ent and representat
<br />and known as the King Company's Ferronite Standards with the Associated Wholesale
<br />Electric Company's Neolite Lighting Units, to which said agreement reference is
<br />hereby made and the same is made a part of this Resolution by reference the same as
<br />though set forth in full herein.

<br />
<br /> Section 2. That the hereinbefore described street, together with the
<br />foregoing work and improvements are fully set forth, delineated and described on
<br />the plans, profiles, cross-sections and detailed drawings known as "THE PLANS FOR
<br />ASSE~SM)v~NT DISTRICT NO. 189", and as set forth in the specifications known as
<br />"THE S~CIFICATIONS FOR ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 189", which plans and specifications
<br />are on file in the office of the City Engineer, and.were adoptsd by Resolution No.
<br />2267 on the 15th day of December, 19~0, by the City-Council of the City of Santa Ana
<br />as the plans, profiles, cross-sections, detailed drawings and specifications for said
<br />
