RESOLUTION NO. 2598 A RESOLUTION OF TP~ CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING FRANCHISE BOND FILED B~ SOUTH~RN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANM LTD., A CORPORATION. WHEREAS, on the !5th day of August, 1938, pursuant to the provisions of the Franchise Act of 193V, Southern California Edison Company Ltd., a corp- oration, filed with the City Council of the City of Santa Ana an application for electric franchise, and that on the 15th day of August, 1938, said City Council passed a Resolution authorizing and directing the publication of Notice of Intention to Grant Electric Franchise; and WHEREAS, said publication was duly made on the 17th day of August, 1938, within the time and in the manner provided for by the Franchise Act of 1937, and WHEREAS, said Resolution provided that Southern California Edison Company Ltd., file a Bond running to the City of Santa Aha with at least two good and sufficient sureties to be aoproved by the legislative body thereof, in the penal sum of $1,000.00, conditioned that said Southern California Edison Company Ltd. shall well and truly observe, fulfill and perform each and every term and condition of said franchise proposed to be granted, and that in case of any breach of condition of said Bond the whole amount of the penal sum therein named shall be taken and deemed to be liquidated damages and shall be recoverable from the principal and sureties upon said Bond; said Resolution further provided that said Bond shall be filed with the legislative Body of the City of Santa Ana within five (5) days after the granting of said proposed franchise, and WHEREAS, pursuant to the Franchise Act of 1937, and said Resolution of the City Council of the City of Santa Ana passed on the 15th day of August, 1938, Southern California Edison Company Ltd. has filed said Bond in the manner and within the time prescribed by law. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Aha resolves as follows: That said Bond, No. 97097, in the penal sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) wherein Southern California Edison Company Ltd. is n~med as principal, and Pacific Indemuity Company, a corporation, duly ~thorized and qualifed to do a surety business in the State of California, is named as surety, be and the same is hereby approved. I, E. L. Vegely, City Clerk of the City of Santa Aha, do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was introduced at a regular me~tlng of the City Council of the City of Santa Ana held on the 1Vth day of October, 1938, and w~s adopted by the following vote: AYES: COUNCIL~EN NOES: COUNCILMEN ABSENT: Councilmen Ernest H.
