l~raetion of the foregoing rates that the number of hours of employment bears to eight (8). Bidder's attention is called to the above mentioned Statute which will re~ire them, if awarded the contract, to pay not less than said general per diem rate of wages set forth in s~id resolution hereinbefore mentioned, to all laborers workmen, and mechanics employed in the execution of the proposed contract. The bidder must submit with his proposal a satisfactory check certified by a responsible bank and payable to the order of the City of Santa Ana, or a bidder's bond for au amount not less than ten (10) per cent of the aggregate sum of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the proposed c~ntra¢ if the same is awarded to him, and in event of failure to enter into such contract said check or bond shall become the property of the City. The amount of the bond to be given to secure a faithful performance of the contract for said work shall be twenty-five (25) per cent of the contract price thereof, and an additional bond in an amount equal to fifty (80) per cent of the contract price for said work shall be given to secure the payment of claims for any materials or supplies furnished for the performance of the work contracted to be done by the Contractor, or any work or labor of any kind done thereon and the Contractor will also be required to furnish a certificate that he carries compensation insurance covering his employees upon work to be done under contract which may be entered into between him and the said City for the construction of said work. The work is to be done in accordance with the profiles, plans, and specifications of the City of Santa Ana on file in the office of the City Engineer Room 201 of the City Hall of Santa Ana, California. Copies of the plans and specifications will be furnished upon application to the City Engineer for which a deposit of three dollars ($3.00) will be required. The deposit will be refundec upon the return of plans and specifications. The Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Ana reserves the right to reject any and all bids. That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana has ascertained and does hereby determine that the general prevailing rate of per diem wage in the locality of the City of Santa Ana, California, for each craft or type of workman needed to execute the work herelnabove specified is as set forth in the form of notice here- tnabove set forth, and said notice shall contain said schedule of per diem wages to be paid for the workmen on said work.
