<br /> RESOLUTION CONCERNING TAX-DEED~I) LANDS AND
<br /> REPLACING SAME ON TAX ROLLS
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Section 3897d of the PoliticAl Code of the State of California, as
<br />amended, provides anong other things, that whenever any property has been deeded for
<br />delinquent taxes and/or assessments to the State of Califo~ia, ~nd said property is
<br />subject to a lien which constitutes a deed, under sections 3897.3 and 389Vd of the
<br />Political Code· for delinquent taxes and/or assessments to any municipality, and such
<br />lien having been in existence for at least five years· the governing body of said
<br />municipality may enter into an agreement with the Board of Supervisors in the County
<br />in which said property is situated, subject to the approval of the State Controller,
<br />for the purchase, of or for the option to purchase the property so held by the State,
<br />or any part of parts thereof; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, all of the Three Hundred and two (302) lots or parcels of property
<br />hereinafter mentioned ~nd described in an agreement of "Sale and Purchase" dated
<br />
<br />August ?th, 1939· ma~ked Exhibit "B' hereto attached· are wholly within the City li~.its
<br />of the City of Santa Ana, in the County of Orange, State of California, and are now
<br />delinquent for city taxes and for county taxes, or for public improvement assessments
<br />of th~ City of Santa Aha, and further, all of said lots or parcels of land hereafter
<br />described in said agreement, have been deeded to the State of California, for non-payme
<br />of County taxes, and are subject to a lien for delinquent taxes and/or assessments of
<br />the City of Santa Ana, which has been in existence for at least five years, and has not
<br />been paid; and which lien constitutes a deed for delinquent taxes within the meaning
<br />of Sections 3897d and 3897.3 of the Political Code, and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, there has this day been presented to the City Council of the City
<br />of Santa Aha a plan marked Exhibit "A" dated August 1st, 1939 , under which it is
<br />expected to return to the City tax rolls and to the County tax rolls all that certain
<br />real property situated in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of Califomia,
<br />and being more particularly described and set forth in said agreement of "Sale and
<br />Purchase" marked Exhibit "B" hereto attached and made a part hereof; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, there has now been presented to the City Council of the City of
<br />Santa Ana, said agreement of "Sale and Purchase" a copy of which is annexed and marked
<br />Exhibit "B", dated the 7th day of August, 1939, wherein the Board of Supervisors of
<br />the County of Orange, State of California, acting under the authority granted to it
<br />by Sections 3897d of the Political Code of the State of California, therein designated
<br />as the Seller, and the City Council of the City of Santa Aha, acting under the authorit
<br />granted to it by Sections 389Vd and 3897.3 of the Political Code of the State of
<br />Califomia, is designated as the Buyer, wherein the said Buyer agrees· among other
<br />things, to purchase said delinquent tax lots heretofore mentioned and more particularly
<br />described in said agreement, for the sum of Three Hundred and two ($302.00) Dollars
<br />cash· lawful money of the United States of America, said agreement, however, to be
<br />subject to the approval of the State Controller of said State and subject and pursuant
<br />in all respects to Sections 3897d and 3897.3 of the Political Code of the State of
<br />
<br />California.

<br /> NOW, THEHEFORE, BE IT

<br />approves the plan No. 5, dated
<br />
<br />RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Santa Aha
<br />the 1st day of August, 1939 (Exhibit "A") submitted to
