Overtime - one and one-half (!~) t~es the above rates. <br /> <br /> Sundays and the following legal holidays, New Year's Day, ~,~emorial <br />Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Armistice Day, Thauksgiving. Day, Christmas Day (except <br />watchmen, guards and flagmen) one and one-half (l~) tmmes the above rates. <br /> <br /> The foregoing prevailing wage schedules are based upon a working day <br />of eight (8) hours, and in the event tt~t laborers, workmen or mechanics are <br />employed les~ than eight (8) hours per day, the r ate of per diem wages shall be <br />deemed to be that fraction of the foregoing rates that the number of hours of <br />employment bears to eight (8)e <br /> <br /> Bidder's attention is called to the above mentioned Statute which will <br />require them, if awarded the contract, to pay not less than said general per diem <br />rate of wages set forth in said resolution hereinbefore mentioned, to all <br />laborers, worlauen, and mechanics employed in the execution of the proposed <br />contract. <br /> <br /> In accordance with the provisions of Section 1V~.5 of the Labor Code~ <br />apprentices of any of the above crafts may be employed, provided they are <br />properly indentured to the contractor in full compliance with Sections SOV0 to <br />S091, both inclusive, of the Labor Code. Such apprentices shall be paid in <br />accordance with the provisions of said Section 1V~.~. <br /> <br /> The bidder must submit with his proposal a satisfactory check certified <br />by a responsible bank and payable t o the order of the City of Santa Ana, or a <br />bidder's bond for an amount not less thau ten (10) per cent of the aggregate sum <br />of the bid, as a guarantee that th~ bidder will enter into the proposed contract <br />if the same is awarded to him, and iu event of failure to enter into such contract <br />said check or bond shall become the property of the City. <br /> <br /> The ~no~t of the bond to be given to secure a fait~hful performance of <br />the contract for said work shall be twenty-five (~) per cent of the contract <br />price thereof, and au additional bond in an amount equal to fifty (80) per cent <br />of the contract price for said work shall be given to secure the payment of claims <br />for any materials or supplies furnished for the performance of the work contracte8 <br />to be done by the Contractor, or any work or labor of any kind done thereon and <br />the Contractor will also be required to fu~ish a certificate that he carries <br />compensation insurance ¢ove~ing his employees upon work to be done under contract <br />which may be entered into between him and the said City for the construction of <br />said work. <br /> <br /> The work is to be done in accordance with the profiles, plaus, and <br />specifications of the City of Santa Ana approved by City Council of said City <br />for doing said work, which are ~m file in the office of the City Engineer, Room ~¢ <br />of the City Hall of Santa Aha, Californiae Copies of the plans and specification <br />will be furnished upon application to the City Engineer for ~ich a deposit of <br />Five (S) Dollars will be required~ The deposit wil~ be ref~nd~d upon the <br />return of plans and specifications. <br /> <br />reject <br /> <br />(SEAL). <br /> <br /> The Board of T~stees of the City of Santa Aua reserves the right t o <br />any aud all bids. <br /> <br />Dated tb~s 15th day of April, !940. <br /> <br />'C'le rk <br /> <br /> E.
