WHEREAS, the evacuation of the Japanese to Japanese Re-location <br />Centers has embittered the American born Japanese (and otherwise) <br />against the American people, thus making it impossible for any kind of <br />friendly and workable relationship, now, <br /> <br /> THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the City Council of the City of <br />Santa Aha herein assembled at a regular meeting on this Vth day of <br />June, 1943, strongly oppose any move to have the Japanese returned to <br />their homes on the Pacific Coast, and <br /> <br /> HE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the head of the War Re-location <br />Authority be communicated with, our Senators, Congressmen 4nd Repre- <br />sentatives, and other such persons having to do with the decision as <br />to whether or not the Japanese are to be returned to their former <br />dwellings on the Pacific Coast, and impress upon them the inevitable <br />danger that would result from the Japanese being returned, the possi- <br />bility of sabotage, the possibility of Japanese as well as our o~ <br />citizens being murdered, the fear of the women and children going out <br />at night, and a general break-down of our morale on the home front, and <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the Japanese now stationed in <br />Japanese Re-location Centers be placed under the Jurisdiction of the <br />Army, who is fully capable and qualified to cope with the inevitable <br />problems, and relieved from the Jurisdiction of the War Re-location <br />Authoritye <br /> <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of 'Santa Ana, <br />at its regular meeting held on the 7th day of June, 1~. <br /> <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA ) <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE ) SS <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA ) <br /> <br /> I, Erma Keeler, City Clerk and Ex-Officio Clerk of the City <br />Council of the City cf Santa Aha, do hereby certify that the fore- <br />going Resolution was duly and regularly passed and adopted by the City <br />Council of the City of Santa Aha at the regular meeting held~on the <br />7th day of June, 194~, by the following vote, to-wit: <br /> <br /> <br />
