WHEREAS, each and all of these items of expense and appropriated monies are essential for an adequate civilian defense; and WHEREAS, William C. Jerome was and is the City Auditor of said City of Santa Ana and is the person duly authorized by said City to administer funds in connection with said civilian defense activity, now, therefore, BE IT KESOLVED that William C. Jerome, Auditor of the 0ity of Santa Aha, City Hall, Santa Ana, California, be and by this resolution is designated to administer funds appropriated by said City and the State of California for use by the City of Santa Ana for civilian defense, as hereinabove referred to, and said William C. Jerome in said capacity as City Auditor is designated as the / person and representative of this City to sign and present applications on behalf of this City under and pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 805 of Statutes 1943 of the State of California, and said William C. Jerome in such capacity is hereby designated and authorized in the nm~e of the City of Santa Aha to negotiate an agreement with the State Director of Finance of the State of California covering terms and conditions under which any amount of aid from the State of California is to be granted to the City of Santa Ana under and pur- suant to said Chapter 805 of said Statutes. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Santa Aha does hereby request of the State of California under and pursuant to said Chapter ~O5 of said Statutes, the sum of $ ~-~/~ for the period commencing June l, 1943, and continuing to and including the 3Otb day of June, 1944, for the purpose of civilian defense, and does hereby authorize and direct William C. Jerome as said City Auditor in the name of this City to prepare and file with said State of California all necessary papers and to do all acts necessary to carry out said request, and the said City of Santa Aha by and through its City Trustees hereby certifies that matching funds equal to the amount
