Resolution Authorizing and Directing the <br />City Clerk to Advertise for Bids for the <br />Improvement of South Broadway, from <br />Cubbon Street to First Street, in the <br />City of Santa Ana, California, and Fixing <br />the Prevailing Wage Rate. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA: <br /> <br /> That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to <br />advertise as required by law for the receipt of sealed bids or <br />proposals for the doing of the work specified in those certain <br />plans and specifications adopted this 21st day of October, 1946, <br />by this City Council for the improvement of South Broadway, from <br />Cubbon Street to First Street, in the City of Santa Ana, which <br />said advertisement shall be substantially in the following words <br />and figures, to-wit: <br /> <br />NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS <br /> <br /> In pursuance of a resolution of the Board of Trustees of <br />the City of Santa Ana, Orange County, California, adopted directing <br />this notice, NOTICE IS H~REBY GIVEN that the said Board of Trustees <br />will receive at the office of the City Clerk in the City Hall of <br />the City of Santa Ana, on or before the hour of 7:30 o'clock, p.m., <br />November 4, 1946, sealed bids or proposals for the improvemen~ of <br />SOUTH BROADWAY from Cubbon Street to First Street. <br /> <br /> Bids must be made on a form provided for the purpose <br />addressed to the Board of Trustees, Santa Ana, California, marked <br />"Bid for South Broadway Improvement". <br /> <br /> Notice is hereby given bidders that in accordance with <br />the provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code, the Board of <br />Trustees of the City of Santa Aha has ascertained the prevailing <br />rate of per diem wages for each craft or type of workman or <br />mechanic needed to execute the contract which will be awarded the <br />successful bidder, to be as follows: <br /> <br />SKILLED LABOR <br /> <br />Classification <br /> <br />Rate Per Hour <br /> <br />Tractor driver (50 H.P. and over) <br />Roller operator (surface finish) <br />Carpenter <br />Asphaltic plant operator <br />Asphalt raker and ironer <br />Asphalt plant fireman <br />Operator of power shovel or other excavating <br /> equipment, shovel type controls(3/4 c.y. or more) <br />Finisher concrete structures, curbs and sidewalks <br />Blade grader operator (finish work) <br />Structural steel worker <br />Reinforcing steel worker <br />~ixer box operator (A.C. plant) <br /> <br />1.70 <br />1.75 <br />1,65 <br />1,575 <br />1.35 <br />1.45 <br /> <br />1.90 <br />1.V75 <br />1,825 <br />1.625 <br />1.775 <br />1,45 <br /> <br /> <br />
