RESOLUTION NO. 3838 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SIGNING OF CITY <br />PAYROLL CHECKS OR WARRANTS BY LONGHAND <br />SIGNATURE DURING CERTAIN PERIODS <br /> <br /> WltEREAS, heretofore on December 20, 1948, the City Council <br /> <br /> of the City of Santa Aha adopted Resolution No. 372~ providing for <br /> and authorizing the signing of City warrants and payroll checks by <br /> signature facsimile machine; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Santa Aha has resigned and <br />his resignation has been accepted to take effect on the 31st day of <br />August, 1949 and it appears that it will take approximately six weeks <br />to obtain a new plate for the purpose of affixing the signature of the <br />new Mayor to be elected, to city warrants; and <br /> <br /> W~EREAS, it becomes apparent that from time to time due to <br />change of personnel there will be periods of six weeks or more when <br />the signature facsimile machines, or one of them, will be unusable <br />because of the waiting period to obtain a new plate with the signature <br />of the new City Officer or Official. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the <br />City of Santa Ana hereby approves the use of longhand signatures during <br />periods when it is impossible, for any reason, to use either or both <br />of the signature facsimile machines. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the payroll ch~cks may be signed <br />by the City Auditor and the City Clerk, or in the absence or incapacity <br />of one of said two officials, may be signed by the Assistant City <br />A~ditor or the City Clerk as the case may be; and that City warrants <br />may be signed by the Mayor and the City Clerk or in the absence or <br />incapacity of the City Clerk, by the Assistant City Clerk; and <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That when it becomes necessary for the <br />reasons hereinstated, to use longhand signatures on City payroll checks <br />or City warrants, that the City Clerk shell, and she is hereby directed <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
