RESOLUTION NO. 4002 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION GRANTING VARIANCE WHERE PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> RECOMMENDED DENIAL <br /> <br /> V~HERE~S, heretofore the Planning Commission held public hear- <br />ings on Variance Application Number 259 and thereafter recommended <br />denial of said application by their Resolution Number 848; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that said Variance should be <br />granted; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That a Variance be granted <br />covering the property in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, <br />State of California and described as: <br /> <br /> Lots 20, 22, 24 and 26, all in Block C of Tract No. 245 <br /> <br />to allow automobile parking for patrons of a market being constructed <br />west of and adjoining said p~operty under the following terms and <br />conditions: <br /> <br /> 1. That the entire area, except planting strip adjoining Cypress <br /> Avenue, be hard surfaced in order to prevent dust and such <br /> surfacing be maintained in good condition. <br /> <br /> 2. That any lights used to illuminate the parking lot shall <br /> be so directed or shielded that the direct rays will not shine <br /> on nearby residences. <br /> <br /> ~ That there shall be a solid masonry wall not less than three <br /> and one-half (5~) nor more than four (4) feet in height parallel to <br /> Cypress Ave. and not less than five (5) feet west of the ~est line <br /> thereof and extending from the north to the south boundary of <br /> the subject property, except at driveways, and a hedge, vines, <br /> shrubs or other planting shall be maintained in good condition <br /> by the owner in the five (5) foot strip between the wall and <br /> Cypress Ave. but in a manner so as not to obscure view of driveways <br /> from public street or walk. <br /> <br /> 4. That there shall be a solid masonry wall along both the north <br /> and south property lines of the property and said walls shall be <br /> four (4) feet above grade in height from the front wall as fa~ <br /> <br /> <br />
