No cle~nout on any soil or waste line will be <br />considered accessible unless there be at least two feet (2) of un- <br />obstructed space between the floor Joists and the ground extendin <br />to such cleanout from a window in the foundation or from s cellar. <br /> <br /> SHALL BE KEPT CLOSED: All cle~nouts shall be made tight <br />without the use of paints or other similsr substance, and shall be <br />kept closed at all times except when a storpage in the soil or <br />waste line occurs and then may be opened for a reasonable time in <br />order to clear out the obstruction. <br /> <br /> NOT USED FOR FLOOR DRAINb: Cleanout openings shall not <br />be used for floor drains. <br /> <br /> IN BASEMENT OR C~%IENT FLOORS: Clesnouts in basement or <br />cement floors shall extend et least one h~lf (1/2) inch above <br />floor level. <br /> <br /> WltERE REQUIRED: Cleanouts sh~l] be provided at the fcc' <br />of ali vertical lines of soil or waste pipe ~nd at the end of eac] <br />horizontal line exceeding five (5) feet in length; on sink lines <br />as close to the fixtures ss possible regardless of the position of <br />the waste line; on horizontal soil or waste lines or house sewers <br />at lesst every fifty (50) feet or fraction thereof, and also in <br />other places where made necessary by the chsracter of constructio~ <br /> <br />SECTION V9 - LEAD PIPE OR BENDS: Lead pipe or bends <br />used in plumbing or draining systems shall be of at lesst the fol- <br /> <br />lowing weights: <br /> <br /> 1 1/2" ............. 3 lbs. per linear foot. <br /> 2 " ............. 4 lbs. per linear fo~t. <br /> 3 " ............. 6 lbs. per linear foot. <br /> 4 " .............. 6 lbs. per linear foot. <br /> <br /> LEAD WASTE PIPES: Waste pipes in ~11 cases shall be of <br /> lead or cast iron of not less than one ~nd one half (1 1/2) inche <br /> in diameter. <br /> <br /> LEAD IN CONTACT WITH CE~IENT: Where lead pipe comes in <br /> contact with cement or concrete floors or walls it shell be pro- <br /> tected by a coating of liquid asphalt. <br /> <br /> LEAD PIPE CONNECTIONS: Ail connections in lead nipe <br /> shall be made by wiped Joints. Connections between soil pipe and <br /> le~d or wrought iron pipe and lead should be made with brass fer- <br /> rules or brass solder nipples, and every Joint sba I1 be wiped. <br /> Bolted, cup or flush soldered Joints are prohibited in ~11 cases. <br /> <br />SECTION 80 - FLOORS NOT LAID UNTIL AFTER INSPECTION: <br />In the construction of buildings in w~ich the bottom of the first <br />'floor Joists are within two (2) feet of the ground such flooring <br />shall not be laid until the ~ll rough plumbing has been inspected <br /> <br />and tested. <br /> <br />SECTION 81 - FLASHINGS: <br />quired they shall be of sheet lead <br /> <br />Where pipe flashings are re- <br />or copper. <br /> <br /> <br />
