Section 8. That Section 22~4 i~ hereby amended so <br /> <br />as to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "Ail exterior walls and interior bearing walls of <br />Type V buildings shall be supported on continuous solid masonry <br />or concrete footings which shall be of sufficient size to support <br />safely the loads imposed as determined from the character of the <br />soil. Foundation walls shall extend at least six inches (6") <br />above the finished grade adjacent to the wall at all points. <br />Nudsllls shall be properly grouted with mortar as required by <br />Table No. 2~-~, Type B, and bolted to the foundation or founda- <br />tion wall with not less than one-half inch (~") bolts, embedded <br />at least seven inches (7") into the masonry and spaced not more <br />than six feet (6') apart. <br /> <br /> "Adequate method of nailing shall be provided for <br />screen vents when such vents are below mudslll." <br /> <br /> Section 9. That Section 2501 is hereby amended by <br />adding a new subsection to be denominated subsection (e) and <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "(e) Infected Lumber. Ail wood used in any <br /> <br />structure shall be free from fungus, dry rot, pile burn, termites, <br />and all other disease or growth detrimental to lumber." <br /> <br /> Section 10. That subdivision (b) of Section 2521 <br /> <br />of said Code is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof <br /> <br />and as a part of the last sentence thereof, the following, to-wit: <br /> <br /> " ........ provided, however, that no sole or plate <br /> <br />shall be cut for the installation of any pipe three inches (3") <br />or less in outside diameter, but for the installation of such <br />pipe, the soles and plates shall be bored with a hole of a size <br />not more than sufficient to permit the installation of said pipe." <br /> <br /> Section ll. That Section 2522 is hereby amended so <br />as to read as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />
