OP~DINANOE N0... 1296 <br /> <br /> AN 0RDINANOE TO PROVIDE FOR TH]~ DISPOSAL OF SDRPLUS <br /> P~OlmE~TY ONNED B~ THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AND TO PROVIDE <br /> FOR THE DIHPO~L OF UNOLAIMED PR0rru(TY ]2{ TH~ F~%NDS OF <br /> THE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> <br /> THE COUNCIL OF'THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES O1HIAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1: Whenever the head of any Depar~ent of the City <br /> of Santa Aha shall determine that any personal property in his <br /> possession or under his Jurisdiction is surplus and that there is <br /> no present or prospective use to which the City may put said prop- <br /> erty, he shall report that fact to the 0ity Council and furnish a <br /> copy of his report to the Clty Purchaslng Agent. Report shall <br /> contain a statement of the kind, nature, condition and quantity <br /> of such surplus property and a brief description of it, shall <br /> state the location at which such property may be viewed, and shall <br /> give the names and addresses of possible, prospective pUrchasers <br /> if such infor~Ation can be obtained by the Department Head. <br /> <br /> Section 2: The original copy of such report shall be kept <br />on file in the office of the City Clerk u~der the caption "Surplus <br />Property Reports" and shall be open to the public for inspection. <br />Any person interested in the purchase of any such property and who <br />leaves his name and address with the City Clerk, shall be notified <br />by mall, of any sale of said property at least ten days prior to <br />the date of such sale. <br /> <br /> Section 3: All reports of surplus property shall be read <br />at a regular 0ouncll meeting and no sale of any such property shall <br />be had until the Council by Minute Order, has approved the report <br />and declared the property to be surplus and no such sale shall be <br />had if any other Depar~ent of the City expresses a desire or need <br />for such property for a City purpose. <br /> <br /> Section $: Whenever the City Council shall declare that <br />sufficient surplus property has accumulated, it shall fix a date <br />for the sale of the same.
